Arts, crafts and such
- Scrap and Yap papercraft group at northampton Jesus Centre is a fun place to learn
cardmaking and scrapbooking and they always have chocolate too
- Magnolia Studios - 37 Billing Road - NN1 5DQ - new Pottery & Craft studio.
Call in to paint pottery, craft & pottery classes available.
- hobby craft on the weedon road
- The main gallery opposite the Derngate has those massive boots Elton John wore in the TOMMY movie (1975) on display! Pop in and check them out, they're part of pop culture history.
- Emporium?
- definately Hobbycraft.
- the she museum and art gallery in town by the derngae is an excellent museum with arts and crafts activities held most holidays for children.
- Wellllll there's the Royal Theatre which is really cute and lovely and lovely and lovely. There's the derngate right next to it which isn't so lovely. Across the road from that there's Northampton Shoe Museum which is good for killing time but not much else. If we have an art gallery I want to know about it.
- Hobby Craft....near sixfeilds
- The Art shop in Abington Square was good before it closed down
- come to hobby craft! i work there and its cheap and the staff are all friendly....it has everything
- Coleman's in St Giles Street is good, other than that it's all discount stationery shops.
- Wrapt opposite the derngate is way cool.
- Not in this un-cultured Town!
- Hobbycraft has a big range but is really expensive.
- not many in northampton, black rose has closed down,
- Hobby Craft holds lots and lots of arty and crafty stuff but is far out of town. Unfortunately, its the best to go to. Everything else is poor in comparison.
- All the craft shops seem to have gone the way of the dinosaurs, but Coleman's on Giles Street will sort out all your arty-crafty needs.
- not enough of these
- emporium and black rose especially recommended.
- hobby craft near the cinema sells funky beads
- Too many of 'em, all run by stupid pot-smoking hippies who smell bad.
- THE SHOE MUSEUM!!!!! They have got a fabulously bad video about the growth of Northampton as a 'New Town'...slogan- 'Shoe Town, NEW TOWN!!!' and also has a working model of the great fire of Northampton that fills a room about 2 by 2 metres big. Brilliant place. Oh, and then there's the model of Hunsbury Hillfort in a little case...
- There's that art shop near the post office, can't remember what it's called. Wilko's sells paints and stuff.
- the shoe museum, its very..urm..interesting!!!!!!and good fun to run around screaming in there!!!!!and scaring small c.hildren
- There's the occasional worthwhile piece in the main art gallery, and also the fabulous Northampton video. For the truly daring, there are regular shows at the George's Avenue college campus, where you can also find drama productions and some potential skating action. And good meals.
- eeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....the boot museum???
- Try Looking down the wellingborough road, you might just find a bargain.
- I dont care how uncool it may sound but hobbycraft, up by Sixfields simply cannot be beaten for buying funky beads to meake ur own jewellery.
- Hobbycraft is a really good craft shop, the kids loving spending a good hour up there looking and touching and spending a couple of pounds, keeps them happy!!
- Legends - Victoria Rd. Goth figures and stuff
- The Royal Theatre puts on 300 performances a year, ranging from proper traditional pantomime to SHOPPING AND F***ING. No website at present, but call 01604 632533 for details of performances, from August to June. Well worth a visit.
