Cinemas
  • Vue at sol central
  • SOL central
  • Vue in Sol Central is the best cinema in the local area, no argument. Cineworld at Sixfields is fine, but not as fancy as the new Vue.
  • Sol Central is over priced but the staff are nice and the seatsare so comfy you could actually sleep on them.
  • The Lings Forum Cinema - though Lord knows why people still bother with it, if you've got a decent-sized telly and a DVD player, you'll get the idea of what it's like to watch a film here.
  • sixfields don't og ot Sol central is too expensive. £6.00 for a ticket bloody rip off.
  • Sol central-always empty, big comfy seats, my boyfriend can fit next to me on a single seat how cool is that? But hen he is annorexic so that's not so amazing. Oh well. Sixfields cinema is good, more people, but the seats are a bit crusty.
  • sol central, a local townie area, they stand around in the arcade...never do watch a movie
  • Sixfields never seem to have the projector in focus. Vue in Sol central is more comfy, and better all round. Go to the Picturedrome on a Monday night, and you can drink beer and have dinner too!
  • Lings Forum...how the heck does this place stay in business? Nobody ever goes there and it's in the middle of nowhere!
  • vue as it is now at sol central, wot a rubbish name, it good tho, they hav wel comfy chairs, and u can sneek in to another film after yours has finishd
  • Sol Central - cheapest and has loads of leg room, reclining seats and a great surround sound system.
  • Vue cinema (previously UCI)
  • well i heard that ugc in sixfields has an infestation of mice, so i'll say sol central is best.
  • sol central
  • sol central and sixfields cinemas are the ones i use all the time, they are great for watching films you can sit where you like and also the chairs go backwards in sol central for extra comfort.
  • We've just got the new cinema in Sol Central which is reely nice, its huge and u can lean back inthe chairs! Whoo! Also there's sixfields but it's a bit out of the way.
  • the old ABC! ah the lava lamp style oil blobs before the main feature in the 80s.
  • The Lings Forum cinema used to be interesting, nowadays they just show mainstream shite in order to turn over a profit.
  • "Sol Central Cinema" - All the seats are BIG and are COMFORTABLE and RECLINE with lots of room and the sound system is nice and new with excellent quality surround sound. Best outside of London.
  • Sol Central - mmm, reclining seats
  • there's a new one in nothampton town, uci 10 screens!
  • We now have the new Sol Central complex just off town centre, with a multiscreen cinema. The seats are much better than at Sixfields, but the best feature is undoubtedly the fact that ushers will come in and talk to the audience before the film starts, to remind you about the perils of mobile 'phones and noisy eating habits. They used to introduce themselves, but they don't seem to do that any more, which is a shame. Also, there's a large glass-built water feature that cascades down two floors and would make an excellent spot for a tragic plummeting accident following post-film mock-fight malarkey. AND THAT'S NOT ALL! The architects have placed fixed stone cannonballs all around the entrance area, presumably to trip up the blind. They're lit up by sunken lights, but, you know, that doesn't really help the blind. Why are they going to the cinema in the first place? Mind your own business.
  • Sol Central....modern, big but not too big, easy to get into films (if you are underage), lots of resterants and stuff there....a car park and a hotel Sixfeilds is huge....it has loads and loads of eating places...and big bowling place...a health complex thingy and a huge car park
  • Sol central and UGC at Sixfields are the big ones, however the one to go to if you're looking for something a little outside of the mainstream then go to Lings Forum which is next to The Weston Favell Centre, where they show lots of lesser known, unknown, and foreign movies which never get a showing at the multiscreen cinemas... and yes the also show the big blockbuster movies too!
  • obviously sol central but watch out for the little scummy townies hanging around!!
  • sixfields which is ok but not in the town centre. wheras sol central is directly in the centre and its cheaper than sixfields
  • Lings Forum has interesting stuff sometimes, but it's in a right crappy area and you wouldn't catch me walking home from it at any time, never mind late at night.
  • The Sol central one is better than Sixfields!
  • UCI new in town much cheaper than UGC at sixfields
  • The Picturedrome - pub / cinema. It's actually a converted cinema and is really good. Tends to show "cult" films as opposed to modern everyday stuff. Sixfields multiplex, used to be Virgin but now it's something else. You know the score, there's one in almost every town and they're all the same.
  • CINEMAS : Sol Central (Nicest cinema in town - air con, reclining seats etc), Sixfields (ok if sol's full). BOWLING : Sixfields (newest and only decent one in town)
  • sixfilds is ok if you wanna see a film in nice and quiet if not then you wanna go to the new UCI IN sole central there is a good restarant there to not bad
  • Sol Central = Nicest Seats = Biggest Screens = Good Night Out
  • UCI is a great cinema let down by crap films showing. UGC is a crap cinema with good films. If the usherette at the UCI who looks like Amelie would like to have sex with me, please let me know.
  • UCI at Sol Central. Its so easy to get there and its nice and clean.
  • Sixfields SolCentral (s.u.t.o.a heaven)
  • new cinema in sol central...seats tilt back, only get free parking for 3 hours and then you have to pay a stupid charge. the one at sixfields better, popcorn is much nicer, a bit dated though now, and there is a tendancy for you car to be nicked from there... lock it up good!
  • UCI cinemas in Sol Central is easy to get to as opposed to UGC. But theres not much to do if you get there early for a film. You could go to a bar but if you're younger you might not have hat option.
  • The entire Sixfields complex is beloved of aggro-seeking townies and fat-arsed scum families with a dozen kids and all the social graces of the Borgias. Swallow your pride and hop on the train to London, make a day of it and have a much better time.
  • Northampton's cinemas are bloody awful, for the best service and sound you've gotta go to the UCI at The Point in Milton Keynes...its worth the trip
  • new one in town... big + cheep with student card
  • UGC
  • The new UCI in town is much better than UGC at sixfields. Cheaper, more comfortable etc. Both are swarming with dregs though, well it is northampton...
  • Groerner centre
  • Bring back the good old Cannon! I grew up in that cinema, it was my life...sob!
  • I'd rather wait until a film's on TV than trek miles to the hardcore townie multiplex, which is overpriced, soulless and crap. The Cannon / ABC on Abington Square was boss, and it sadly closed its doors in '95.
  • dont go to any,2 expensive in npton.
  • The only real contender is UCG at sixfields it is alright up there and there are a lot of pubs and restuarants up there too, oh and a bowling alley. There will be a new on in the old barclaycard building on marefair but they haven't finished building it just yet.
  • mega bowls at sixfields is great its not expensive , drinks are brought to you and theres even glow bolwling.
  • Bring back the old ABC on Abington Square - the crappy, ultra-townie multiplex at Sixfields is a characterless hellhole.
  • Sixfields is great - 9 screens, but £5.50 a ticket. Its surrounded by restaurants too, though.
  • Virgin Cinema (yes, Northampton has joined the Virgin Empire) is is OK. Nice popcorn, even if a trip there does cost me a month's wages. (For the record I get £70 a week)
  • The cinema is fucking ace even if it is a little far outside the town centre. The new multiplex with 20 screens should be a site/sight to behold.
  • Opening soon, but it's the wrong side of town, and I bet they won't give it a bus service, so I'll have to wait till I learn to drive (bugger) :-(
  • UCG or whatever they're calling it this week. REALLY expensive. Hint: buy popcorn at the Sainsbury's across the road - it's about a third of the price! Good range of films though.
  • Don't overlook the Forum in Weston Favell - little art-house type cinema showing one film a night (usually) - onyl place you'll get a chance to see Being John Malkovitch and suchlike. They produce a guide every other month, you can pick one up from the town library / Spinadisc / wherever. Fine films, cheap tickets, discounts.
  • It's cheaper in Coventry or at the Forum than it is at Sixfields. They're building a new one where the barclaycard building was, apparently. Forum occasionally shows decent films, but not very often.
  • Last time I went to the Virgin Multiscreen was in 1999 and it was overpriced, hardcore trendy and full of louts acting hard. Wish I'd waited for the video now.
  • UGC, over at sixfields. It's pricy, but worth it. All the latest releases, friendly staff (like my friend, David!), quality popcorn and a bar upstairs.
  • Only one UGC. Another being built and from the looks it wil also be a daaaarrrrrrrkkkkkkk sk8 zone
  • The Virgin multiplex is SHITE.
  • The best cinemas was the Cannon! RIP
  • The Picturedrome on the Kettering Road isn't strictly a cinema but it was once!!! But they do a film night on a Monday and they've got a lovely big screen to watch it on. They do food as well until fairly late.
  • one at six feilds
  • The MASSIVE cinema at Sixfields is WICKED. 10 screens, choice of 4 restaurants and bowling etc. Good prices too, although food's not cheap, and cool little film shop.
  • If I lived in that heathen angular SimCity Milton Bloody Keynes I'd travel to Northampton just to take revenue away from the Point. Local rivalry has swayed me slightly though.
  • MGM at Sixfields is now Richard Bransons and has a trendy bar too
  • Virgin 10 screen at Sixfields
  • Zap Attax, is really cool, it's like Quaser, it isn't that cheap and it really smells, but it's good, fun.
  • Go tho the point in Milton Keynes forget northampton it sucks the fat one.
