Favourite Building in Northampton, Northamptonshire*

Art deco, contemporary, futuristic, tall, short...

You can tell us more about Northampton.

Favourite Building
  • Northampton Jesus centre nicely restored Art Deco Cinema
  • All saints church...and SOL central
  • guildhall i like the way that the new part of the building has been made to look like the old part
  • Abbey park museum
  • ROADMENDER cause it rocks and gild Hall cause it looks good.
  • 78 Derngate - only Rennie Macintosh designed house in England
  • Plenty of smart Victorian buildings here...sadly from the first floor up only. The ground floor has usually been disgustingly modernised with formica, plastic, neon and chrome and other such shit. Check out half the shops in the town centre, particularly Cafe Nero.
  • Town Hall is nice but st.giles church is nicer
  • Um...this town is shit don't you know? It would have to be Radlands RIP or St.Giles Church. It's nice or the town hall. my boyfriends house-sex, drugs, rock 'n' roll. Bring it on-all welcome by the way. Anyone up for a party?
  • The King Billy
  • Sol central, looks remotly good with its silver futuristic bits
  • Not really a building, but that sign that says "You are now leaving Northampton".
  • The Library is quite a nice building, and the Guildhall's nice too.
  • well grave yard, where st giles church is, its great
  • mmmmm, grosvenor centre.
  • avon
  • I like the church.
  • Weston Favell centre. it is great if u want to do sum quick shopping because u dont have to travel far.
  • all the pubs
  • 78 Derngate is truly beautiful and it's fantastic that people still have the vision, determination and generosity to get beautiful buildings preserved. Go visit!
  • All Saints church is gorgeous and incredibly old, a king had it built for Thomas a beckett before he decided he was a traitor and had him killed. Everybody seems to love the lift tower for sentimental reasons.
  • the Express Lift Tower. after 17 years out of town i stil check to see if the lift is an Express Lift.
  • All the lovely old houses along Kettering Road facing the racecourse. Church of the Holy Sepulchre. All Saints Church.
  • The lift tower, I cycled into northampton once and it looked like the whole town was giving you the bird. Wicked just what Northampton is all about.
  • The Charles Bradlaugh - Shoe factory recently turned quality Bar
  • The Guildhall and the brilliant extension, design at its best The Roadmender
  • The Olde Oak cafe
  • Zapatak. Theres nothing like the aroma of 50 p lils shit to make me fell I'm finally home.
  • We love the old part of the Guildhall, we stare up at it in awe when we walk past.
  • express lift tower
  • There always seems to be building work going on in Northampton so new buildings are always being put up and replacing the old as well as new buildings going up on empty land. At the rate they've been going it wont be so very long before Northampton joins up with Milton Keynes!
  • i dunno
  • The dole office on Sheep Street...I'd be lost without it
  • THE EXPRESS LIFTS TOWER!
  • Sol Central is all new, however maybe too spacious!
  • All Saints Church
  • Empire State Building because it isn't in Northampton.
  • Sol Central
  • St. Giles' church, the Guildhall, Chicagos
  • Top of the Town Club. Needs a lick of paint and clearing out. Such a weird building!
  • when the street fair is here in september go on the hugh rides that go abouve the buildings... loads of intresting things on them you never knew where there.... remember to open your eyes
  • The best building is the Guildhall me thinks
  • Guildhall (the old part) and down St.James' end theres a Bus Club in a small square building. But it looks really interesting and so different to its surroundings.
  • The Derngate. The Picturedrome. All the houses along the Racecourse end of Kettering Road.
  • the beutiful lift tower you can see it from miles away. cant believe they are tring to knock it down hmmmm
  • Express Lift towers must never be destroyed!
  • franklins gardens purely because it is home of the saints and the express lift tower
  • That one
  • The Derngate, I've had many great evenings there. Peacock Place is very nice and relaxing inside.
  • My house, of course!
  • BT tower, is it still there?
  • The guild hall is okay.
  • the express lift tower, and the guild hall.
  • bensons - how long till that awning collapses?
  • the lift tower! it makes nonlocals wonder "WHY?"
  • pubs of course!
  • None of them, they're all butt-ugly.
  • roadmender
  • Hmmm...the Shoe Museum. Wicked place.
  • Most of the ones in town aren't that bad, actually.
  • Express Lift Tower - a local landmark.
  • The bus station! Everyone else hates it, but I think it's a glorious triumph, especially the rubber floor with small raised circles, and the ludicrously seedy cafe downstairs. Also - a wig shop! How many bus stations can say THAT? Top tip: post-club, and too tired to walk home, you can always get into a bus using the handle by the door. Have a nap, ring the bell, and be on your way refreshed. Don't try and steal the bus, you'll ruin it for the rest of us.
  • The Express Lift Tower - it's the first thing I see from the train and think "I'm home."
  • Derngate Theatre.
  • Spinadisc parade
  • Derngate centre. Stunning technological feat of architecture. Much better than previous on-site bus station.
  • avon building. big disused warehouse near the avon factory is a great spot for fireparties and general fucking about at nite. and debbie, david and luke's house. i luv it!
  • VISAGE
  • Carlsburg buery
  • Guildhall is multipurpose...looks posh in the day, makes a fab venue for Sweat! All Saints church is really nice. The Peacock place is a really relaxing place to be in because of all the water and colours.
  • Irish center
  • All Saints church
  • Sixfields Stadium, home of the Cobblers. Express Lift Tower (The Lighthouse)
  • Express Lift tower
  • the church in the market square
  • The Royal Theatre in Guildhall Road - a beautiful Grade II listed Phipps theatre, dating from 1884. An absolute gem
