Where to go to get down

You can tell us more about Oldham.

Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
  • Does no one remember the " Cats Whiskers" on Union Street, complete with dancing cage
  • Raaabbbish! don't bother, Manchester is a tenner away in a taxi and has loads of good stuff.
  • Tokyos by a long shot! The music downstairs is the best!!!
  • if you like it "bouncy" ring of feathers on a friday should sort it. otherwise there is not much for the hardcore dance music possy
  • LIQUID NIGHT CLUB GREAT ON A THURSDAY
  • me and my mates like going to liquid in oldham, tends to have some good tunes playing and theres lots of lively people, the bouncers dont let just anyone in, i.d is a must or else u aint gettin in but its worth it when your in there. litten tree, aruba and walkabout are always good places to start your night with a few offers on. lots of flyers go out about access to clubs for free and sometimes even a free drink. i wouldnt recomend 360 beccause me and my mate paid a tennor to get in on a saturday night and ended up leaving because there was hardley anyone there and the music was pants.
  • Tower Club: A great place in the 1970s to get trashed after the pubs shut. Music was mainly dodgy 70s rock but with a few Punk Rock gems thrown in to keep us youngsters happy and pogoing. The place was an old religous building of some sort. A bit like something from a Hammer horror film + it was a total mess. Great! Became Oddies Club in the 1980s for live Punk & rock bands.
  • liquid is the best out of a bad bunch, avaoid scruples unless u want a night in a cell, avaoid caberet and tokoyos. oh and henry afrikas is closed! stay on Yorkshire St.
  • There is a lovly selection of fine high class clubs and bars you will find on Yorkshire Street in Oldham. Selling the finest drinks and allowing only OVER-AGE and VIP guests in; no matter what your ethnic origin- because of course nobody in Oldham is racist at all.
  • scruples dirty 2 o clock princess's and you order a pint of blood when you leave for the hospital.
  • Sometimes, if your lucky a bum or two might hang around the bank near Yates' on a Friday/Saturday night. For a small fee they'll let you rough 'em up a little. It's twisted, I know but, it's a great stress reliever. The stress comes from knowing your going to live and die in a s**t house like Oldham and the only entertainment you have is getting hammered on a Friday/Saturday night and beating homeless people up.
  • tokyo's meat market, sleazy dj's and the ugiest blokes only oldham could produce
  • Masonic Lodge. Kershaw Street. Giving it some large tunes!
  • rainbow at star inn trappers clegg street
  • just to let you know there is also a club in oldham called the candlelight club.its great for a good night out and if you want to grab a granny.i know this from past expierience.its known as sticky carpet.
  • Rennies has changed to Holy City Zoo - Trendy name and trendy DJ's but I don't actually know anyone who goes there! Maybe us Oldhamers are just too tight to pay the £6 entrance fee when Scruples only costs £4
  • Root's wife swapping parlour, in the Coach & Horses every Saturday night!
  • The Caberet-it's so tacky you just have to love it. Tokyo Project- especially GrooveBud on a Friday night
  • Henry Akrikas is now closed pending demolition for a site for a leisure quarter
  • Dreamers - fairly cheap, good laid back atmosphere and a good mix of music. Don't stand still though, or your feet will stick to the floor.
  • Oldham nightlife is good for getting into a fight, grabbing a granny and dancing to Los Macerenos but not much else. The club everyone goes to is Henry Afrikas, with its tasteful jungle decor.
  • Scruples.
  • Ambition...top indie club,,saturday night the best but thursday also good. downstairs punk and metal catered for.
