Live sounds in a garage, pub, park or stadium
You can tell us more about Oldham.
Live Music Venues
- The Shack, or used to be circa 1991.
- The Castle on Union Street has some brilliant acts on and is about the only place worth going to in the 'ham unless you like your women loose and your nose broken.
- Jacksona pit is the best place for live music in oldham
- the castle and abbey are pretty cool, my m8s have played there, the fractions look out for them, also minions of jeffrey played the castle not long ago which was fun
- There are no music venues of any kind. Unless u include fitton hill estate, you'll probably find loud music there.
- castle, too loud crap bands, full of wankers who have lived there all their lives. the abbey, used to be fun, now just very very saaaaad
- The Castle seems to have some half decent local bands and the like.
- tower
- Tara Leisure, Shaw. Watch out for a band called Lipservice....FANTASTIC!
- Tara Sports & Leisure, Grains Road, Shaw. Some good bands on, on a Saturday night.
- There used to be quite a few - Southside in Shaw, the Shack, Monties, but most have closed down. But Oldham still has quite a thriving band scene (mainly indie + metal), with regular local band nights at the Queen Elizabeth Hall or Royton Assembly Hall, and every summer the council organises a free music festival, Out Of The City, for local bands. Last Summer the Headliners were Dodgy + Audioweb. Good local bands include The Reed (indie), Walrus (charlatans-ish), Lincoln and especially the brilliant MYSANTHROPY (metal).
