  • The Kings Arms in Grains bar is the best and friendliest pub for miles and miles around! and the Horton Arms near St Matthews church is well nice not the scroaty middleton road one!
  • Too many and full of bad people. And I mean bad as in rotton.
  • The Brewers Tavern is the friendliest pub in town, over run by students between 12 and 1 weekdays, but nevertheless a great pint and atmosphere! Out of town The Wellie on Ripponden Road is by far the best I've been in, friendly staff, patrons and entertainment at weekends (karaoke -Friday) "Puff the magic dragon lived by the sea, and frolicked in the autumn list in a land called hanalee..." tragic but great fun.

  • Hogshead on Union Street has decent beer. Jackson's Pit is good for trendy and obscure bottled things.
  • Horton Arms Royton JW Lees Superb Waggon & Horses Newhey Burtonwood
  • John Willie Lees pubs - although all the football supporters are boycotting it at the moment (on account of the fact that they won't give any money to the footie club they virtually own {Oldham Athletic}), J.W.Lees's is the finest bitter in the Western Hemisphere.
  • Plenty of 'townie' pubs - Heroes, Yates's, but the best are the Abbey, for its atmosphere £1.05 a pint Abbey Ale and The Beer Emporium, "The Bezza" , for atmosphere and the free jukebox.
  • Revolution.
  • Oldham, (within the confines of the metropolitan borough boundaries) has (or used to, before the plague of development occurred), more pubs than days of the year. Un-beatable
  • Jacksons pit.cellar bar, good for Warsteiner beer and various other foreign stuff. John Joe Maguires, excellent irish bar
