Skateboarding Spots
  • Tesco's car park is nice and flat, watch out for the police! There's a small grass gap outside a Dulux paint shop near Greenacres school. Greenacres school itself has some awesome stair sets, but these days its guarded by 7ft high spiked green fence, climb at your own peril! Mecca Bingo in town has some cool stair sets, including a huge 10 set which is almost perfect, but land what ever your trying quick, we where asked to shift within 5 minutes of skating. On the road leading into Strinesdale reservoir, there's a huge hill to bomb down, so you can live out your wildest San Francisco dreams. Lastly, there is a 5ft half pipe in Waterhead park, but its not worth the concrete its made from, situated nicely around a drug user hot spot. Thanks OMC.
  • When i was a kid it were the fukkin hill dahn road - denbydale
  • chaddy way
  • Go out from Oldham centre on Ashton road, go past the first set of those minging looking blocks of flats on the right (Primrose Bank) and turn right at the first set of traffic lights you come to (as if you're heading for Chadderton). You go up a bit of a hill and at the top there's a school on the right hand side. Congratulations, you've just found the best skate spot in Oldham! The school yard has a flat basketball court which is surrounded by a massive flat bank thing which has a hip on one side and you can ollie into the bank through the gate to the basket ball court (well, you maybe can, I bobbed it). It's a knackering place to skate but it is rad. The people in the area are cool as long as you make it clear that you're there to skate and not hasstle them. Wouldn't go after dark though as theres no light anyway and you might get robbed by some scalls. Also Greenfield has a really nice little park now with a good block, flat bank, funbox and quater. Nothing worth travelling for but cool nontheless.
  • in march they are building a concrete skatepark in Royton Oldham on royton park tennis courts consisting of a jump box ,spine a few quarters and im not sure what else but we have just got a grant of 86,000 grand and theres already a 5 ft halfpipe made from metal which is sh*t but better than nothing
  • The roundabout at the end of Athens Way, Lees
  • oldham law courts
  • there is a new mini-ramp in Royton Park in the centre of Royton, Oldham. come and use it.
  • Whereevr you want. Be careful the pavement is pretty naff.
