• Nowere else quite lyk it. Its lyk a bunch of circus freaks escaped n decided to breed and build a settlement. Very pretty at crimbo :D The council spend £8000 on flowers and pots to put them in (enough said) Source of great amusment watching the locals. Has a home bargains n aldi :D Sumtyms it's so stereotypically cheap its funny :D Kewl bookshop, fairy wing shop, blue juice java have kewl sofas :D great source of inspiration for a book on y mullets are a crime against humanity. It rox ass rly.

• The small, local feel
• Made some friends that really, really made me smile
• Going to the pub over Christmas and meeting everyone!
• The locals are friendliest you could ever wish to meet. New-comers are made to feel welcome and involved. Not too many of the Victorian buildings are being demolished to make way for the Lego-styled modern ones with cardboard walls like Southport is being inundated with. Ruff Wood is a lovely place to walk to the east. Fairy Glen near Parbold is fantastic. Walking along the canal to the Ship Inn in the summer. New extreme sports centre planned to be built around Ashurst Beacon so only a short drive away. Yipppeeeeee!

• the gym park pool
• the lion, the greyhound and safeway fishmongers counter sells a tremendous range of quality fish at surprisingly reasonable prices!
• Great range of charity shops (ten at the last count)
• The standard of ladies has always been high.

• A local college which only trains nurses and teachers. Eighteen pubs squeezed into a small market town with a clock tower at the middle. Perfect number for a golf based pub crawl.
• When they turn the xmas lights on Edge Hill Uni
• The cafe bar, bouncing atmosphere!!
• It's not Corby where I'm from. Check it out it's in Northamtonshire. Avoid at all costs!
• Leaving town
• Sitting in Slim Jims listening to live jazz
• it's an escape route from Kirkby
