Pubs in Ormskirk, Lancashire*

The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call

You can tell us more about Ormskirk.

Pubs
  • Dissys, sports bar and styles
  • There isn't really a bad pub. Apart from the Plough and the Horseshoe. The rest depend on what you are after. Live music in some, no atmosphere in others.
  • I prefer the lion, fit staff who you can have a laugh with and the styles is sound as well (nice food as well, cheers al). Dissies used to be good on a thursday, decent dance tunes with phil and scally andy but not as busy now, one of the bar staff looks like jesus christ but he used to flip burgers at maccys
  • I would just like to add that the person who put you cant get a job in ariba unless your snotty or size 8 or less is actually complementing the staff, thin is good and as for snotty its prob to customers like you!!! nuff said
  • Styles Bar now closes at 1am on friday and Sat.Midnight closing the rest of the week!!!
  • The Golden lion is cracker of a night, pissed up mayehm on the cheap ale. the barmaids are cracking as well, the nicest set of breasts in any bar in ormskirk!
  • DISSYS STYLES THE QUEENS THE LION THE BUK BAR DU FAY
  • Got no ID? No problem just get up the Ropers! Hayfield is a good drinkers pub and nice staff too as goes for Styles & Dizzies. Avoid Arriba if you can. The Queens Head & Yew Tree do good bitter. Plough is still the roughest.
  • Dizzies, Styles, Arriba - the only decent pubs
  • Arriba bar...Ian Gordon, owner of; the biggest tie, the worst fitting suit, the softest bunch of willy chewing side kicks, the most useless door bitch/men in England, and the most rediculous fake scouse accent this side of bootle!!thinks that by hanging around the arriba door of a night time like a cheap hooker, he can make it look like he owns the place!! The fish market next door should expand and take over the arriba. Then everyone, including the edge hill college students, who constently need a disciplinary beating from us locals will have a better night out!! Massive respect to the towns heroes, Alan from styles, Matt from Slim Jims, Sam from Little Italy Pizza(the best in Town)!
  • styles is good, has a slightly older crowd than other places in the town. Upstairs in the cafe bar is decent too.
  • styles disralis and ariba are the best about. nice crowd.
  • The horse shoe does NOT ever serve minors, ever, so dont even try. Also no one gets pissed there on a Wednesday.
  • THERES A NEW ONE CALLED O'CONNERS ITS AN IRISH PUB ON CHURCH STREET ALSO THE ARIBA DISRELYS OR DIZZY'S AS THE LOCALS CALL IT
  • queens head, lion, styles, dizzys, blah
  • Buck I'th' Vine on Burscough Street is a nice place to go with friends but has an awful bar (I think it used to be an outside window). If you can get out of the town centre and see some local pubs. The village of Aughton to the south is peppered with local drinking establishments like the Town Green Inn and the Stanley Arms.
  • Hayfield on County Road is usually lively. The Buck I'th' Vine is good for character. Styles for a young crowd. Disrali's is woth a mention as they sell Veba. To the east of the centre, the Windmill is very good. To the West, the Eurika has the friendliest bar staff ever (Halsall Lane) who care about their customers. I've never not had a good night there, and they do a lot of speciality nights there. Worth the walk from the centre.
  • I urge anyone who is planning a night out in Ormskirk NOT to go the the Arriba. I went last week and the manager invited me to join in with a gay orgie
  • I urge anyone who is planning a night out in Ormskirk NOT to go the the Arriba. I went last week and the manager invited me to join in with a gay orgie
  • disraelies alrite not bad food isnt that great
  • Ok, I had never been to Ormskirk, until I was invited by a friend to stay there, to check out the local drinking establishments etc. So i did! Im used to goin into Liverpool so didnt really no what to expect from "ormy" as some of the locals call it. Firstly we started in a pub called "Dizzies", not a bad place to go for a drink to start the ball rolling, beer was generally ok, atmosphere average, im sure this place would be good if it were busier, but as we had only just started it was fairly quiet! Second on the list was a pub called "The Buck" which at first seemed to be a more old fashioned place, again the beer didnt disapoint, and was better priced than "Dizzies", again was quite empty though, stil there is hours of fun to be had on the quiz machine in the corner?! So moving swiftly on we went to "The Golden Lion" very similar to "The Buck" in fairness not the best pub ive bin to but hey you cant win them all! So last on our list was "Ariba" where the locals all end the night if you dont want to go home at 11:30, this place is open till one. The venue itself wasnt bad, (Except havin to go downstairs to take a leak! Whats that about?!) fairly busy in here, the time spent at the bar was bit daft, possiblly do with some more staff! Maybe more like the good lookin Brunette bird behind the bar!! So we ended our night there seen as there was 'knowhere' else to go, but still a decent place to end up, (seem to remember line dancing to the proclaimers, dont ask!) The negative point about this place as someone has allready pointed out, the A1 Gimp of a manager, seems to have a real attitude problem, what a tosser!! He had a temper tamtrum at the end and was stormin round like a kid who had his toy taken of him, Get rid of him! So almost the end a the night now in Ormskirk the chippy didnt dissapoint particually nice onion rings!! The sat morn we went "The Buck" for some lunch and to watch a bit of footy, had some meal for two thing, was ok, garlic bread was good 8/10, chicken goujons were above average9/10, the chicken wings and the breaded mushrooms were abit under par though, 5/10 all in all ok! So thats it Ormskirk in one night, worth a visit if ur near by, probably better than Magull Town hall! Thanks to my mates mum for lettin me stay!

  • golden lions cheap all week, bucks cheap on sunday and tuesday, an arriba if you can stand the gubbins they play in their, none of them seem to be tooo bad for target audience age range qhich is nice. oooooh and the greyhounds an excellent pub behind safeway, really ahndy for a quick one on route home. ooooh and the snooker club is brilliant for going to watch football, huuuuuuge screen!
  • Ariba, Disrali's, The Buck, Styles and The Cricks (if you want cheap)
  • Queens Head (Good local), Disraelis, Buck eth Vine, The Hayfield
  • The Horse shoe! the darts is a beast, and it showcases the world famous ste! sometimes a bit much, but always trying his best.
  • Bring back the Loose Moose!! Hayfield, CAMRA pub of the year, excellent food and beers (real ales and Bud on tap), good atmosphere and a very fit barmaids. More central is Queens Head, Styles and Disraelis, all good. Golden Lion is stupidly cheap. Buck is full of students. Arriba is where the younger crowd go.
  • Buck 'ith Vine - pub quiz on Tuesday!
  • upstairs at the cafe bar on friday & saturday 2-4-1 drinks. Always buzzing and they play really good music too (not like the car alarm music in arribba).
  • disralies, styles, buck'ith vine, arriba, golden lion, queens head are the best bet
  • the railway pub next to the.... railway(!) does brilliant cocktails, the Golden Lion is good & Aribba sells cheap alcohol.
  • The Golden Lion is always packed on Friday and Saturday night, probably due to it being cheap, not because its good!
  • Queens Head, they have a lovely bunch of Hockey lads (nb: open to interpretation) the Golden Lion does Switch AND Cashback and is cheap. But the Hayfields has the fittest collection of Barmaids outside of my sordid dreams, Sunday lunch here is a must!
  • Loads. Queens head is good for a quiet drink and Dizzys is good for a noisy drink and a game of pool.
  • The Bus Station is the youthful yobs favourite drinking spot. Usually about 90 drunken children congregate there at night.
  • Lots of Pubs including "The Buck", "The Queens" and Disraelis which has a Pool and Video games room upstairs away from the straight heads. Good Jukebox up here too.
  • Disraelis - Church St.
  • there are always pubs but whether they are any good or not are a matter of opinion
