Mags, mags and more mags

You can tell us more about Orpington.

Magazine and Comic Shops
  • fourboys
  • Virgin Mega store (Bromley) HMV.......
  • WHSmiths has a pretty good range - even some comics like X-Men.
  • Kent Comics is the best place. A little out of the way but a great source of back issues and latest comics. Even better - a great place to hide from Pikeys from. They never follow you in there...
  • Woolworths for stocking all the bmx mags that are out!!
  • theres sum gd sk8board shops around...
  • I think the newsagents next to Mcdonalds is great. The couple that serve in there are both very nice.
  • that is one thing you can get in orpington is mags coz there is loads of newsagents around here.
  • The minority of Orpington residents that can actually read just go to the libary and pinch reading matter.
  • There was a comic shop. But it moved to the wrong end of the highstreet. I have no idea if it's still open.
  • tons of those ere... Martins by The Priory sells comics.
  • The sweet shop next to McDonalds, the couple who own it are really nice! Always really friendly, and helpful.
  • Well there are plenty of newsagents if that counts.
  • Comic shop next to the chemists near the war memorial. It's not that extensive. Go to the Forbidden Planet in Oxford Street, London, instead.
  • Archives in the one way system has most of the top US titles, and some specialist magazines (ie Starburst), but Time Trek in Bromley (10 minutes on the train) has more, and The Forbidden Planet in London (about 45 minutes by train and then tube) has absolutely everything so you shouldn't miss out.
  • Best Newsagent if you want Foreign Newspapers is the little one next to McDonalds in Orpington High Street.
  • Every five shops or something... probably the best (excluding Smith's) is Martin's on Eldred Drive, or in Locksbottom. They often have things like five Cadbury's bars for 99p. Oh, and Oleranshaw's (spelling?) in Marian Crescent has been going donkey's years.
  • Should you want sweets though try Whites of Orpington which still has jars of Cola Cubes and the like.
