can anybody shed some light on an isaiah duxbury had a son(maybe others) called william henry Duxbury, both lived 311 blackburn road. william was born about 1872 + or - a year.died around 1946/48 william married gertrude hulme in 1905, isaiah was deceased by then Re: duxbury's of oswaldtwistle by D. Kilduff (Member 10154885) on 25-May-2005 Am interested in your Gertrude Hulme. I have a Gertrude born 1876 in Fenton, Staffs to John & Eliza (Keeling) Hulme, and living at home with her widowed mother Eliza @ 60 Regent Road, Fenton, in 1901. From there I have no info. She was my great-grandfather John Hulme's sister. Other siblings were Emily, Albert, Leonard, Frank P. and Eliza. I looked up Oswaldtwistle on the map, and realize th at it is a ways from the Stoke area. I live in Canada and must admit, though, that the distance would be immaterial here, so I'm hoping that it wasn't too far for Victorian England standards either! Any connection? ... more >> Reply

Hiya i just want to say thank you so much for your website it is ace!! I live in preston but my boyfriend lives in oswaldtwistle. Were both under 16 by the way and we allways argue about which place is best. Of course i always win and you are fantastic for giving me some more ammo!! Anybody got any more insults about ossy please tell me. I love your website ( you don't know how true to life it is)Kep up the good work!!
