• Boars head - best pub in town - no atmosphere like it, booze a lil pricy mind
• The Bell is a superb pub, and The Black Lion is up there too.
• You can't look anywhere in Oswestry without seeing a pub.

• 29 pubs....? there is also 29 pubs in Oswestry, most popular are Wetherspoons, Boars, eagles, George, and maybe the Red Lion for all those underagers!
• unicorn - dead pub on the housing estate. woodlands - decent karaoke sometimes highwayman - good for sky sports and cheap food golden lion - bad memories for me (a dart landed in my foot in there) bell - draught boddies!!! brady's - food is bloody awful quays - bouncer on the door but if you look 15 he'll probably let you in plough - no bouncer, will serve anyone breathing railway - if you go in stay in the lounge. the other room is oswestry's fight club castle - always on id-ing sprees but good karaoke selection top red - nice enough but if u want the pool table, get there by 5pm. good guest ales. will serve anyone over 15 eagles - f*cking coffee lounge. shouldn't be considered a pub. griffin - cheap, and with pool table complete with spider rest ex-servicemen's - best barman in oswestry, 3 dartboards, 2 pool tables, 3 snooker tables (members only), live music. Yes, I am a member. 5 bells - f*cking freezing greyhound - stay out of the bingo hall top white - has a good burns night celebration every year. wetherspoons - cheapest pub in town, but bad memories :( boars - top joint. i work there. come in i'll give u a discount! vaults - pool table's cloth is too fast fox - LAGER DRINKERS BEWARE

• Oswestry has shit loads of pubs, worth mentioning have to be The greyhound, The boars, The eagle and the griffin, possibly the top red depending on whos in there.
• The Griffin, just off Bailey Head, is a favourite haunt of the more alternative crowd - not your average teenyboppers or boring middle-aged men. Skaters, rockers and slight eccentrics are usually found here as a pre-venue to the Boars.
• The whole of my year from Dinas Bran school used to do this every friday night.. The eagles, butchers, Boar's, Keys, then maybe Farrell's, as it was known then ( although the last time I drove through Oswestry, it had closed down) and yes, on to The Vic. Downstairs was always much more popular, for some reason..
• there is a new one... The Wilfred owen, JD Wetherspoons thing
• JD wetherspoon is opening soon next to the Post Office
• More pubs than you can wave a *large* stick at...however "the crowd" seems to follow a circuit starting somewhere like The George, The Griffin or The Eagles, then moves on down to The Butcher's and then over the road to the Five Bells, for there everybody in the world seems to converge on The Boars briefly before finally moving on to the strange (and horrid) Gibsons (or "GibOhs" as it's known locally).
• If your new in town, the best place is quite possibly the Boars... Oswestry is famous for that pub.. either for the good laugh you'll have in going there or the amount of senceless violence that takes place outside. Check out The Greyhound... its well tidy! Oswestry boasts the largest number of pubs for a town of its size in the UK!
• pubs in oswestry are actually tightening up - only good thing oswestry has going for it is pubs. they should reopen the cocktail bar , Bar Mirage as well!
• I quite like The Boars.....its got a good atmosphere!!.......oh and 5 bells!!!
• Boars Head is unique..indie,rock,dark,dingy and cool...
• Three Pigeons! It is top! It has had the same interior decor for 50 years, it is like a step back in time!
• Oswestry is a small market town, but i aint taking the piss u have never seen so many pubs....its in the guiness books of records for most pubs in a market town....packed out with them....every where u turn theres a pub....thats no joke
• Loads, but the best are The Butchers Arms and The Boar's Head
