Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
- Phil Flavas/Funky Flavas has finally come to an end after 10 years resident at bluenotes, bluenotes is becoming increasing run down and tatty, coupled with the unsavory doormen and the chav bar downstairs it not suprising attendance fell. Rumour has it that a new funk/soul night is currently in developement and is likely to be held at the new trendy Pyramid Lounge bar in oulton broad, the funk will return, watch this space !
- Phil's Flava's at bluenotes is starting to get busy again, I seems Phil has got rid of the old house DJ's who used to clear the room. Phil's has got some young wipper snapper on the decks mixing up funk, soul and a bit of funky hip hop defo worth a look !
- Bluenotes has grown up a little, still running the spiral night (alternative indie night that still attracts the kid's) 80's night still rocks and has a more mature crowd and Phil's Flava's in my opinion one of the best nights in lowestoft local DJ's Phil, Simon L and Nez play the best in funk, soul and rare groove, again this night has grown up from its youth and attracts a more mature crowd, A wicked night gauranteed ! !
- go up the arena for a fight with a shirt boy who can't handle his stella. go up bluenotes for a night out with the kids.
- Oulton broad; has a real dire nightclub type place; avoid like the plague.
Whatever others say; avoid the Wherry hotel like the plague.
The George burrow; now this is more amuzing, has a over 30's disco, which is mainly full of sad singles, and a lot of "old Farts" (including myself), who just want to drink late, very, very late; it does this and is not as bad as the reputations expound it to be (note; old far; its amatter of mind, not physical age)
In town; there is the zone (yawn), the edge (yawn), little to occupy the mind, little to occupy the soul, but hay, we live in one of the most "nowhere" places on the known universe; we want to get drunk; you can do this here.
