Anybody out there in Oulton Broad know Karen Jones (her surname in the 60's)or her whereabouts?. Her father was in the Royal Navy and she was at Tal Handaq school in Malta during the early sixties (60-63 ish) She lived in the Oulton Broad area with her family (mother, father and brother Keith?) prior to and on return from Malta. I have been trying to get in touch with her for ages. The Tal Handa q school have regular reunions and she is one of the very few of our "gang" members we cannot find. The reason being and the strangest thing is, I left this town 19 years ago for a career, didn't hang out in Oulton Broad and have only returned to renovate a house (but I went to school here in the 80's before I escaped so perhaps a bit younger than Karen Jones?). I have a new-ish friend here, a little older than me who I know is of Maltese (half or something) descent, and lives with someone called Karen...in Oulton Broad? Sounds like a pretty bizarre co-incidence to me! Let me know if you want me to see what i can find out from him / get numbers etc it's no problem for me. It was just the Maltese / Naval connection that through me..and I was only checking out the property pages! The WWW is such an odd thing. If anyone in the norfolk area is interested in my blades just give me a bell. I only want about �75 for them, they're �160- �180 brand new. The bearings are all ok.Wheels are slightly egged but still cool to ride. They have a few scuffs but nothing damaging. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF TRACING MY FAMILY HISTORY. I BELEIVE THAT THEY ORIGINATED FROM MUTFORD OR GREAT YARMOUTH. IN ABOUT 1849 FANNY ADAMS RISING MARRIED ROBERT BARKER RAVELL, FROM THIER MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE I HAVE LEARNED THAT THEIR FATHER'S NAMES WERE WILLIAM RISING AND SAMUEL BRIGGS RAVELL . I THEN BELEIVE THAT SHORTLY AFTER THEY MOVED TO THE HACKNEY/POPLAR AREA IN LONDON WHICH CAME UNDER MIDD LESEX, AS THEIR CHILDREN (SAMUEL, ROBERT BARKER (MY GREAT GRANDFATHER), FANNY JANE, ALICE & ESTHER RAVELL) WERE BORN THERE (ACCORDING TO THE 1881 CENSUS). I BELEIVE THAT THE RISING FAMILY MAY HAVE CONTINUED TO LIVE IN THE NORFOLK / SUFFOLK AREA AND MAY STILL BE THERE, BUT I AM NOT CERTAIN ABOUT THE RAVELL FAMILY.
