  • Walton Street Cycles is the best for services/repairs. Halfords is rubbish and staffed by idiots.
  • Good shop on Cowley road few doors down from Bob Eagles. Prices are bad. Often some offers or a sale.
  • BeeLine bikes on the Cowley Road has great stock and staff who know what they're talking about. They all ride (unlike some shops) and actually seem to enjoy the job. Some good bargains to be had. Sadly missing Clive though.
  • For any type of bike repairs in Oxford Back on Trax is "simply the best" They actually come to you to fix your bike and they seem cheaper than any of the Oxford shops. You can also visit www.backontrax.co.uk
  • The Cycle King has the cheapest new bikes for students in September, and some used for about £40. Buy your other equipment elsewhere, though, because some find their staff less friendly or knowledgable than desired.
  • REg Taylor cycle shop on the Iffley Road, not trendy like BeeLine, but excellent service and good advice, they actually have time for you.
  • Too many to mention (person-powered) - it really is bike world. Hire a bike if you visit for any length of time - it is *by far* the quickest way of getting round. Forget trying to drive from one side of town to the other - you can't.
  • Cycle King, bloody good bargains.
  • Person powered on the corner of market street in city centre
  • Walton St. Cycles - Walton St. - The best
  • There are a few dotted around, Iffley Road, Walton Street and there's also a Halfords near the Clarendon Centre. It's very easy to hire bikes cheaply, especially for students.
