  • Gotta be Starbucks in Cornmarket Street for munchies and Ricardos in the covered market for quality food
  • Jericho Cafe on Walton Street is nice but expensive. Combibos in Gloucester Green good for people watching and the staff are very nice.
  • Cafe Cocos! The best night spot / pre-club / dinner / date all-round fun place to be. great staff, good food, no attitude.
  • St Giles Cafe. Lighting up cigarettes to piss off students is always good for a giggle.
  • Whoever said you can't get a decent bacon buttie in oxford obviously hasn't found St giles Cafe and Micks Cafe by the train station. All the rest do it in a Cibbatta!!!!! do they not know it has to be white sliced!!!
  • georginas in the covered market. its so cute, with all the retro film posters....hidden away opposite that great cake shop, no-one i know knows of it, yet its always busy....
  • Mortons in the covered market and Broad Street are the only decent places to sell "Fairtrade" coffees.
  • the beat cafe. that's only cos it does the best cocktails tho, so probably wrong section.. sorry.
  • You're going to pay through the nose if you stray from the US chains--Starbucks, Coffee Republic, and the ones in the bookshops.
  • There is a fantastic tea room in Beckley called Royal Oak where they sell fab cream teas, lots of yummy home made cakes and you can cuddle a baby goat at the same time. Even Michael Winner wrote about it in the Sunday Times!
  • All your starbucks and its clones. About time Gloucester Green had a lot more. It would make it a lot more lively.
  • The Jericho Cafe is nice and central. I believe Thom of Radiohead's girlfriend used to waitress there!
  • Georgina's is a small and cosy cafe with a great atmosphere in the covered market. The Beat cafe on Little Clarendon Street is similar, and opposite it is cafe Rouge. The best cafe/bar of all is Freud's, a converted church on Walton Street.
  • Cafe Boheme is good, as long as you're not affected by arrogant bar staff, poncey decor and trendy wank arse students
  • Ricos in Gloucester Green
