• you should be lucky that kids go free in oxford. up north, children dont have such luck! they have to pay almost as much as adults do! christ. be grateful! you southerners are never anything but happy! stop being so spoilt and just get on with it. barton pool is lovely. but you're probably too lazy to go there! or too far up your own backside to be seen in barton!
• 10 pin Bowling plus american pool at Moonshine, Eynsham
• Oxford Ice Rink is reasonable but the prices have just gone up slightly. Cost you just over a fiver for a session and skate hire. Large open air pool on hinksey road is nice in the summer but the changing rooms can be a bit manky and busy at times.
• Mostly owned by the university, which also owns most of the city and its (inbred) inhabitants. This is a good thing because it keeps the city self-sustained while exercising those with more than or less than the normal constituent number of limbs.
• New swimming pool built! Oxford is no longer so rubbish for swimming. It's still expensive though, of course.
• My dad thinks the Kassam stadium is the best thing since sliced bread, but I'm yet to be convinced.
• The outdoor HInksey pool in south Oxford is absolutely wonderful. It gets crowded in the summer, but during the mornings and evenings it's a great place to swim. No real lane lines, but there *are* little sharks painted on the bottom, and most people adhere to them when kids aren't around.
