- The clubs, pubs, plug & play. There's the Sands Centre nearby, who have some pretty big names. For the rockers theres a variety of bands, for the technoheads theres also DJ bookings in the centre, and names have included DJ Sy, and others.
- Theres only one venue for proper bands to play now that the Miners has given up and thats Blues on a Saturday night. The warehouse is great if you like to dance around yer handbag and listen to really bad covers bands playing along with backing tapes. Go to the Brickyard in Carlisle. Any bands wanting gigs ring Mike H 07940358662. The rock school has started again, gonna try and stage the big park gig again next year. Wanna play there? ring the number above.

- Oh please. i went to the miners once and heard a group whos dad was on the drums playing a track called hemorage, and you know what i think i had one.
- ? erm. Apart from school halls.... which don't count... go to Manchester or Newcastle.... actually the last couple of summers there has been the EDENFEST which took place in a field and ROCKED! we had feeder and the dum dums... it was excellent. But apparently due to a lack of funding we won't have it this summer.... somebody make sure that doesn't happen, PLEASE!!

Ok. Not enough people attending to keep it going and the usual miserable faces attending it from Penrith!
- Miner's Arms has great new up and coming bands.Look out for Wurzel(he'll Keep you talking for night) and Mrs.Raine our 50 year old librarean who gets sloshed with us "young uns" and party's all night(go for it Mrs.Raine!).

- If you're in Penrith you must visit The Minors Arms, especially on a Saturday night for great live music with a relaxed atmosphere.
- Wetherrigs Pottery,The Whorehoose.Go and see the Effluence play,they suck!(Not really they kick aaaaasssss!)
- The wolf is the best place to play. Crap sound, no stage but a good sweatty atmosphere
- the players, look out for the acid monkeys, the quality new 16 year old band on the penrith scene. i went last week and they are something to watch for the future.
- ermmmmmm What music venues???well there was one in summer of 2000 which was for the millenium, held at Brougham and the Lightning seeds came!!!!! They were quite good!!! Oh and attention ppl in July there is gonna b a Radio 1 show @ Carlisle- Bampton and S club 7, Manic street Preachers,Westlife e.t.c are COMIN !!! God bless u carlisle geezers 4 giving us some hope

- If you go down to Southend Road car Park, you'll be able to hear the latest cracking tunes coming out of a battered old Nova with the crappest stereo you can find to brighten up your day.
- Um, Brougham castle is playing host to the Lightening Seeds and Shed 7 this june. Well woo hoo.
- There is a big one this summer with The Lighteneing seeds and shed7 to celebratethe millennium.
- Miners Arms has some great bands and new talents!
- Aforementioned pubs and ... well, that's about it about from an occasional folk night at the Evergreen Hall
- Now that the Salutation Hotel has shut down, (cue violins): The General wolfe, Blues, sometimes the Whitehorse, and "Party in the Park" every summer. (It always rains).
