Pubs
  • I see there are lots of bad comments on here about The Plough Inn! I've recently become the licensee at The Plough and am fully aware of its previous reputation, so just wanted to put the word out that I do NOT have the disco's here any more, everyone that looks under 21 gets ID'd and anyone that comes in looking for trouble gets thrown out, little bit different from the old days!
  • The New Inn is a great pub if you like to be surrounded by the cider drinking locals and love to catch up on juicy up - to - the - minute gossip. The Plough has changed in recent years, there are more fresh faced people who go there, its a great place to start a fight on a friday night with some cocky young local. The Angel is also a good place to go for a quiet drink.
  • the millers pub is fantastic homely and they welcome you with open arms fantastic pub best in pershore by far
  • The Talbot's really improved in the last few years, brilliant beer and excellent home-cooked food. The fancy dress parties are awesome.
  • The Plough Inn is no longer run by the scottish people and is not a trance music bar. If anyone cares to take a look at its new image you will be pleasntly suprised. Probably the best pub in Pershore For food and drink at reasonable prices.
  • The Angel is for those without tastebuds, The Brandy cask with it's magnificient garden going down to the river and its fantasic annual beer festival (August Bank holiday), this is clearly the best place for a pint. Only minor drawback si they stick to traditional licensing hours, but apart from that top beer and cracking pub food!!!
  • oh dear, not many good ones, all full of locals who mightnt always make you feel too welcome.
  • god, way too many!
  • Ha Ha! The Plough I hear you say! The best pub in the world! I do have to admit that we took the place over, and yes we were students for the College. The new Landord is so welcoming, cool and just so SCOTTISH! We are definateky making that our local again next time we're down, even if it means a repat of some rather embarrassing drunken episodes!Katex
  • The Brandy Cask is probably the best- also seels food!
  • Plough? there are loads down newlands, which happens to b an alcohol free zone! TRUE!
  • Some of the entries are out of date. The Millers is only good for bottled beer, but if you want a good crowd, preferably Bikers, try the Talbot.
  • theres no more membership cards you can walk straight in to the plough.it now has a new landlord whos scottish.
  • The Brandy Cask gets the top prize here...welcoming and friendly (yep something in short supply in Pershore) For a pool table try the opposite end of town still on the main street but the pub shall we say lacks that welcoming atmosphere.
  • the plough inn on a friday night is a good laff! from hard house to trance and yes for the oldys there are some 80s and 90s nights!
  • Apart from interbreeding, Pershore folks' favourite pastime concerns getting wasted beyond return at every given oppertunity. Who can blame us? The truth is there isn't many other options. So, whether the annual 'carnival' is on or the town has a new bus-stop sign, there's always a good excuse to drink, and drink hard. This is the one domain that Pershore is well catered for. There are 16 possible venues to drink in. For a town the size of Pershore it's hard to say whether that is an impressive figure or a worrying one. Most of the 'fresh-faced' individuals used to drink in The Plough. Nowadays, due to a money-spinning oppressive 'crowd control' scheme, most of the drinkers are veterans (some as old as 19!). If it's a pint amongst the local hardcore within the Pershore underground you're after, then I would highly recommend The White Horse. Perhaps even more so the 'Vic' (despite the new look, same people)
  • Right, well there's loads really, a whole street full of them. If you're looking for the youthful crowd, go to the Plough (butNOT on karaoke night). The Star's good for a laugh, the Angels' expensive and there's always at least one member of theCo-op staff in there, the New Inn only admits those over 21. There's more but they're all old man's pubs, I wouldn't bother personally.
  • The Angel has got to be the most shite pub in the world! by the way, if any Gubbins' or Balls' are reading this, piss off back to jail where you belong!!!
  • Plough is good for a laugh when they have a disco - if you don't mind being surrounded by pissed up pershorites
  • A couple I think. Locals are rough, so avoid unless you're a yob too!
  • The Star is a well run friendly place (apart from the Landlord and lady are scottish, but never the less.....) Don't go near the Talbot, you may not come out alive. Join in the attempt to burn down the Plough. The manor was nice until it blew up, and we all wonder why?
  • The Angel Hotel has lost alot of it's charm in recent years, the youth element should stick to the Plough which is more "happening", also does a nice cheap lunch.
  • About 25 of them at the last count. Star and the Angel have great gardens backing down to the river. The Manor was ok until it mysteriously burnt down. Unless you're a hard bastard, stay away from the Plough cause it's full of scum-bags with attitude. Apart from that it's ok.
  • Try the OLD OAK at Drakes Brougton and THE QUEEN ELIZABETH in Elmley Castle, both typical English country pubs
  • In order of (in my opinion) quality and atmosphere:
    • The Millers Arms
    • The Brandy Cask
    • The Star
    • The White Horse
    • The Manor
    • The Angel
  • The Millers Arms and The Angel Inn are probably the best pubs in town, supped many a pint in those two. There really is bugger all else there, definately go to Worcester for fun and games! As for Caldwell, best B & B around.
  • The Angel Inn used to be a good drinking establishment, but it has recently gone downhill. This is mainly due to the prices have been raised and also the fact that the publican is a Spaniard and he gave out/got a lot of abuse during Euro '96. The Millers Arms has a far better atmosphere, although the Brandy Cask has better beer (also a beer Festival on August Bank Holiday!!). Stay away from the Plough Inn, it is the teenyboppers pub!!
