You can tell us more about Peterborough.

Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
  • Check out The Glas Onion. DJ Nights, Live Music nights, Film Nights. Spirit and Soul (formerly Bar Lisboa) offer dance nights and thursday nights at Sirit and Soul offer Unity - The best live music for thursdays in the city with the cream of unsigned (and signed) talents performing.
  • Lisboa (24 Lincoln Road) has become the only REAL underground club for electronic music in Peterborough. City centre location and a tight door search but very friendly staff and clientel and wicked underground psy-trance, drum & bass, breaks, deep house, hard dance......something every weekend.
  • Faith and new bit upstairs where old vip was is actually getting good!! Had a wicked night there the other night. Went Liquid this wk end and bored the pants off me!! Cant get served at bar and it was realy bright for some reason. Whats happening to Thursday nights in the town anyway!!!
  • Please note the Verve is now a GAY venue ie: no more great drum and bass nights, no more Nuff Muff, just camp cheesy tunes! So unless you know the dance to the birdie song ( or you want to kiss boys) steer well clear! Has any one noticed the unusual aroma lingering around the bar area of the college arms?? If you aint it reeks of SICK!!! We know the beer is cheap, but come on clean the carpets or something!! Whilst on the matter of the College Arms the management act about 12 ( and are probably close to that age)and the power or maybe its the smell of sick has gone to their heads!! Only the other day they ID my mate whos 30 ( and looks it!) shes old enough to be their mum, the blind monkeys!! On the other hand if you want a bangin Saturday night, shuffle ya feet down to Solstice the Ambience bar, with resident DJ BUDSY whos mind blowing set will get ya rockin!! There is even a few old school favouites in there too!!
  • Um where do we start . . . Peterborough as far as we are concerned does not have a nightlife! Liquid is rammed (for reasons unknown) with uptight posing mostly unattractive unintelligent life forms, all trying to reproduce before the following morning!! How does a club of this standard (ha ha) have the cheek to charge us to enter and to pay above the odds for a pint of watered down knats piss beer??? Another negative point- you have access to. . .CHICAGO ROCK - grab a granny NEW YORK NEW YORK - stinky old stilton (cheese at its best!!) ENVY - sweat ya tits off. Need we say more. . . Faith (the new unimproved Quovadis)has gone for an upmarket image, you know the kind where your feet stick to the carpet! Dont expect to get drunk or even merry, the staff work pace is on par with a snail, so you queue to pay over the odds for a bottle. If you dare venture to the Park, survival equipmemt includes... taxi number to call to pick you straight back up, a bodyguard to shoo away unwanted male admirers who hunt in packs.our advice to you don't go to the park after dark (ps its not open in the daytime)
  • Liquid - CRAP. Faith - CRAP. Peterborough - CRAP. Get with the times, while everywhere in the world is moving forward, Peterborough is at a standstill. Please someone with good ideas for interesting and decent music speak up before the city is run into the ground with boring musically challenged idiots.
  • liquid
  • hmmm, here goes.... liquid- ministry of cheese on a thurs which is a wicked laugh. saturday ok, but friday forget it. high society promotion has moved here since cafe en seine closed. just had dave pearce, fergie, judge jules, tall paul, lisa lashes and sonique lined up..... faith- formerly quo vadis. best nite out here on a fri or sat nite, but not as good as what quo used to be. vip lounge WAY too big! otherwise a cool club with decent music, and a quality retro nite on a wednesday. has also had sunday nite rnb promo's (lisa maffia, romeo, shola ama) and brandon block a little while back met lounge- what a dump. used to enjoy it as i like some of the music, and friendly enough even if the majority need to realise that wearing black does not make em different.... and beer in CANS. gets good bands though, and existence (house/trance nite) well worth a look on a thursday the park- the ground floor is (apparently) one of the top urban clubs in the UK and gets regular big names. excellent music but too much attitude. upstairs hosts live music (wheatus!), planet of sound rock nite and also occasional hard house nites chicago rock cafe- lol! for the oaps out there! break for the border- not allowed to open late any more :-) crap crap crap cafe en seine- same owners as break not allowed to open late any more :-( great funky house nites and regular big(ish) names, cool venue usual chain bars, yates (big and crap) edwards (bigger and cool) o'neills (upstairs open til 2, can be fun i guess)
  • the great cafe en seine and the not so great break for the border (same management) have stopped opening late. liquid is good for a laugh on a thurs nite pure cheddar, crap on friday or saturday. new club faith (used to be quo vadis) is pretty good, music a bit on the commercial side and expensive though. the park is a well known venue for urban music, many famous names have played here, seems to attract a 'younger' crowd though.... and watch your back. also has live rock music upstairs with some pretty famous names (wheatus in early 03) and also occasional hard house type nites. met lounge can be a laugh but is full of STRANGE ppl and sells a lot of beer in cans?!?! also gets some reasonably well known bands. and filth avenue shut over 2 years ago now, l'aristos shut even longer ago. and thats about it. for a good nite go to nottingham leicester or even stamford!!
  • the verve for banging drumb n bass and hiphop
  • Quo Vadis, Liquid, 5th ave (might be shut), The Park (Downstairs), Break for the Border. All boring insipid cattle markets for the terminally trendy/pointless. If you want an STD, its the place to be! (Famous misquote!)
  • Main Club in town is Liquid, very cool on a Thursday night good mix of cheese, dance, R & B you name it they play it. Dance Fri and Sat Quo Vardis, other main club, others are Chicagos, The Metropolis Lounge, and Break for the Border
  • The Met Lounge on saturday night (sugar club). such a cool place where people dont go to pull, its about the music & having a good time. rock on!
  • Edwards is a friendy bar. It was the acadamy, only bin open afew months. Next door is O'niels, theres apub dowmstairs and upstairs is a small club. Not a bad atmosphere, a sall dance floor and lots of cheesey music. Also nearby is yates, a posh bar. Its more upper class, definatly over 21's. Quovadis is the club for saturday, fridays they have girls servin in bikinis. It has a nice layout but average music. Liquid needs help, thursday is the best night (student night), cheap drinks and its normally busy. Crap layout average music.
  • Sugar Club at the Metropolis Lounge on a Saturday night for all you moshers, a good mix of hard and heavy and alternative music, or for the oldies SON OF SUGAR on a thursday night.
  • As u may well know, there are few clubs in Peterborough, but the night life has been gradually expanding over the past few years. We are awaiting the arrival of a cool and tasteful club that is not just mainstream crap and has more atmosphere than meat market 'Liquid'.It is the newest club on the scene but has poor DJs and commercial generally bad taste music. The layout of the club is like an arena(cattle market) and due to the fact the walls are white it is a lot lighter than most clubs. This could be a more successful club if the DJs were better and there were better nights of varied genre and guest DJs. I think that 5th Avenue is being gutted and transformed so lets hope that it emerges as less of a youngsters club and more fashionable and suited to maybe 20-25 year olds who are looking for a bit of class in the city.Well...we can dream!!
  • METROPLOIS LOUNGE on Bridge Street is a good place to hang and chill out with friends and meet new people. One of the few places in Peterborough where there are not people going out and looking for fights! Most Fridays they have a live band and then play brit pop (CIGARETTES & ALCHOL) and such. Saturday is a busy night (known as the SUGAR CLUB) lots of indie/alternative tunes. Sunday used to be SKOOL DISCO - this has stopped for a few months (back in March 02 I believe) - but when it is back up and running head down there for those cheesy tunes you used to dance to in school and a round or 2 of bingo! Have fun y'all!
  • Just want to say, that I have lived here for all of 8 months, and I can't believe that when out clubbing people here are so....not up for a laff. I thought clubs were for letting your hair down and socialising, not posing.
  • No good clubs, the Park is good in theory, rnb/gargae/hip hop place, but in reality it is not well enough set out and the callibre of people is low mainly young school kids. Quo is ok on a thursday if you like cheese has a lively atmosphere pretty poor music but a good, up 4 it crowd. liquid... HOw COMMERCIAL can you get! It is full of old people or young people who believe they are something special but no 1 is up 4 a good time just posing! The men are terrible no talent what so ever no style, charm, personality the best you'll get is, 'fancy a shag'!
  • met lounge on a saturday. All the rest are Kev clubs
  • Im glad know one has mentioned LIQUID as its a bit of a hole poorly designed and the new DJ is crap and thats being nice. Three cheers for Mark the Manager who aint got a clue about how to run a good nightclub.
  • All mainstream cattle markets. Winners is the only club to realistically offer something differant, but mind your back if it's busy.
  • The Fiddlers Elbow , The Place where you can listen to loud good music of all types,a truly alternative venue.Hosts live music on a weekly basis too.
  • The Met Lounge. Its wicked if a club thats full of people who are all as drunk as you is what you want go here on a saturday night i cant fault the place. (its oppersite Marks ans Spencer on bridge street ) One to avoid is the pub Charters sorry the pubs nice but its allways full of Kings School pupils and they suck worst than Steps so i guess you have got my point!
  • BREAK FOR THE BORDER what a hole plus bad decor management and staff who are rude and give poor customer service. the music and DJs also suck. What a dump and not a patch on the old Rinaldos which it used to be called. What a shame they have recked what was once an excellent club with excellent DJs and music. Bring back Rinaldos nightclub I say!!
  • The Monkey Bar on the Lincoln Rd when Lunar is on (one Sat a month usually). The Metropolis Lounge (used to be Winners) sometimes has the good promoter visit, but it's name change seems to have heralded a bland music policy - lots of commercial trance bilge, not enuff fat tings agwahn. Avoid 5th Avenue like the plague - unless you're an immoral boring lager boy, in which case please do go, and stay there.
  • Rinaldos is now called Break For the Boarder and the old Rinaldos DJs Dave Lea and Smithie are now resident on Friday nights in Sleaford at the Asylum Nightclub so if you want to re- live the old Rinaldos days forget the Peterborough clubs and go to Sleaford
  • Break for the Border. (unless you are a teeny fashion victim in which case go to 5th Avenue)
  • Winners Night spot. Bad Jungle night every now and then. Big names Like Micky Finn, Grooverider, Etc
  • Oi! We've got a great golf club! Fifth Avenue is a good club and great if you want to pull. It's a complete meat frest, and if you don't pull something, don't worry, go to Break For the Boarder. A ridiculous club which is a south American theme bar???? Most bouncers in Peterborough are cool and will shag anything. Quo Vardis is surposed to be the best club there (and that's saying something) The Academy is a pub which is cool as is the college Arms where you can get free drinks if your mates are engaged to the bar tenders!!! If you get to know them well, they might let you join one of their lock-ins. These are cool but involve removing underware and shaking your backside out of every availiable window ( and there are a lot of them there!) If you want a massive punch up and a bimbo to grope, then go to The lion in the centre of Peterborough. HG's is a pub for the Science Fiction fan. Go there and get molested by Dr. Spock and Captin Kirk. The Fox and Hounds in Longthorpe has just been renovated. It's good for a great game of pool over the pub quiz on a wednesday. There's always lots of ugly old blokes that your friends can annoy. Basically Peterborough is the place to be for quick shags and great night's drunk with your mates.
  • Fifth Avenue Rinaldo's soon to be renamed And the best one over 20's Quovadis
  • Winners - Fridays & Saturdays D&B, House, Garage, Rare Groove underground. Regular DJ's Shades of Rythm many guests
  • Fifth Avenue - Teeny boppers paradise (Monday nights 80's cheap booze & a good laugh) Quo Vardis - normal 'run of the mill' club - chart music explosion - pretty popular Laristos - 2/3 miles out of town center. Much older crown !!!GRAB A GRANNY!!! Thursday night cheap booze Break for the Border - small place gets very busy.
