The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call
You can tell us more about Peterborough.
Pubs
- The Glass Onion serve alcohol from 6pm every day offering a large quality selection of Organic Ales, Largers and Ciders
- Glass Onion on Burghley Road - run by volunteers to fund a community arts project...a very different and eclectic crowd.
- The best pub in Peterborough is without a doubt The Cock Inn in Werrington Village! Go there have a pint watch the footy on the gigantic screen and eat cheap delicious food!!!!
- There is a well known pub crawl in Peterborough. You start at the Crown in Lincoln Road and work your way into Town (the City Centre). The more drunk you are, the less you realise that some of the pubs are local pubs for local people. The best pub on this crawl is the Hand on Heart, which is like someone's front room.
- Charters has to be the best joint in town. Real ales and open till silly hours.
- miranda hangs around in many local pubs selling her self!!
Fair price
- WORTLEY ARMS, ALWAYS THE BEST BY FAR
- Got to mention the Coalheavers (Coalie) on Park Street, Fletton. If you don't know where that is (and most won't) then get a map! - Great real ales and Cambs pub of the year 2004 winner.
Also the Palmerston Alms on Oundle Road - barman has to go down to the cellar to get each pint - like stepping back 100 years. Does take ages to get served though
- dragonfly in herlington
- dont ever go to the wetherspoons (college arms) as it is an absolute tip, a big traditional looking building with purple neon lights. and dont ever go to any pub in orton except the botolph cheap sam smith's pub with good atmosphere and great beer garden in the summer
- loads in the boro go to broadway AKA bar street has westside bar, yates, o'neills, edwards and college arms (wetherspoons) all within short staggering distance. college is crap though stinks of puke. also in town go to verve, plays cool music and the old monk has reopened, by the new year will become part of the springbok chain and therefore will be renamed
- O'Neills is the best bar in Peterborough, and I've tried them all!!!!!! Fantastic music, craic and gorgeous barmen, what more do you want on a nite out?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- College Arms is cheap bu they have (Or did have) a dress code on Friday and Saturday nites, so no trainers jeans or BB caps. We also have an O'Neil's, O'Connell's, The Lion (As was), Brewery Tap (Recommended and has late license), Solstice and loads of others away fron the City centre.
- Cock Inn, werrington, recently refurbished, cheap food, friendly staff, occassional Kareoke, Disco etc worth a visit. O'neills, late night music room, The bar, Edwards, Yates, Brewery tap (own brewery worth trying), College Arms, Solstice, just head for Broadway can't go wrong
- Edwards Bar has opened up in place of the Academy. It's a plush nightspot, with a nice layout friendly staff and trendy decor including (£1000 barcelona chairs). You will like it. One of the better bars in Peterborough including, yes, plasma screens(they have reached the fens!!!) and a small dance floor with a GOOD DJ playing funky tunes including some better chart stuff.
- Wheres all the mentions for the Park? Just cause it contains half of Huntingdon theres no need to forget about it!
- Probably the best food in any Peterborough pub can be found at The Royal Arms in Eye Road.Excellent home cooked food (all ingredients are fresh daily)and a brand new steak bar for 2001.Superb decor & service make this the place for all hearty eaters to relax and enjoy a superb meal - and I`m not the landlord !
- The Cross-Key's Oundle Road, for the Homosexual in all of us.
- The royal arms (newark, nr sainsburys)
- Try the Hand in Heart. One of the best preserved pubs arround.
- Hmm The Chequers Orton Wistow
- Unfortunatly the pubs are mostly owned by brewries and managed by robots. What happened to the big personality landlords I dont know. The pubs here are total crap. You get more life out of the staff at the local offy.
- HG's nice place to start off the night and its right near Mc Donolds!
- Don't go to the old monk its full of KSP pupils and has monkeys for door men.
- The Old Monk / Bogarts / Brewery Tap / Charters. The rest are all uber-Brewery chain lager only drossholes, avoid.
- Hundreds of pups if your in Peterborough DON'T go in the Lion and The Bridge pup if you treasure your life everywhere else is cool.
- Charters full of Key theatre boys doing no good.
- College Arms, THE meeting place, good pint if you can get served.
The Old Monk, gets busy for about 1 hour, does a very good pint.
Brewery Tap, another excellent pint, brews own beer, big place but nice.
The wortley...special evenings on Wednesdays!
HG's, a theme type place but can be fun.
O'Neals, Irish bar, lots of lively music (usually the pogues), dancing on tables etc.
Fiddlers Elbow...good for a fight.
Bogarts, fantastic beer, but go to the bogs somewhere else.
Solstice, again a hip and happening place....totty pub.
The Royal, don't even go there. (runs out of most beverages before opening time)
The Palmeston Arms, Woodston, Heaven for CAMRA fans.
- Pleanty of pubs too many to mention.
- Too many to mention But try the crown to town pub run You will have a great time
- Chigago Rock - over 21's Westside - resident DJ's acid jazz, house, fundamental grooves Fri & Sat
- Solstice - Modern Irish style pub - large place good atmosphere Acadamy - pretty much the same as any Acadamy bar in the country, good night out
- Solstis, O'Neals, The Still, Rumpoles,
- Tons, like O'Neills, Rat and Carrot, Dog in a Doublet...
- Coach House - owned by Roy. The place to be seen! The Bull - if you like Chelsea Football Club The Goat - if you're the kind of Landlord who provides all the facilities for children....but makes it plain you hate the sight of them! In it for the money...or what!
