• Town centre is dead at night. Poor selection of restaurants and pubs (even the crappy chains). Daytimes in town finds it full of Eastern European men standing about in big groups smoking. No probs with them , but big gangs of them are intimidating and doesnt make the town centre look any better. Dreadful drivers in Pboro. And the new part of Cathedral square cost hundreds of £thousands ???? On what ? A fountain in the pavement ? What a waste of money.
• The worst drivers EVER - no one indicates, and everyone feels the need to hammer round roundabouts - why ? If everyone goes slower its easier to get on the roundabout ? The drivers travelling east on the A47 going home to the Fens sre the worst offenders. But as a general rule, Peterborough morons just dont indicate.
• Barry Fry no park and rides - does not encourage visitors Lack of a Debenhams/primark People who don't indicate when driving
• The town centre has no pubs or restaurants at all worth visiting if you are over 30 - a town of 200,000 people and its dead at night - completely
• Peterborugh is a terrible place, but not in the way that many other places around the country are terrible. You might get stabbed but it'll feel like a relief from the boredom. Interesting people get out of peterborough as fast as they can. If you have spent your whole life there and are happy then you have my sympathy as there is clearly something not right in your head. If you are young i say get the hell out before it breaks you!

• Nene Housing staff.you never met a worse bunch of no hopers who havent a clue
• There's no University. There are too many chavs. There's WAY too much racism and ghettoisation. The lack of a proper regular market in the town centre. Town centre is dead outside shopping hours (thanks to excessive pedestrianisation). NORTH BRETTON and WELLAND estates (social planning gone horribly wrong). The lack of nightclubs (only 2 in a city of 200,000?!?).

• SUBS SANDWICH SHOP IN WESTGATE, TELL THE STAFF TO CUT THEIR HAIR OR TIE IT UP & STOP DRAPING IT IN THE FOOD. ESP MAGAZINE - LET'S SEE SOME DIFFERENT FACES INSTEAD OF THE SAME ONES EVERY MONTH
• living in orton
• The cold weather and the boring landscape. Flat and freezing.
• high crime. barry fry. and its just soooo boring here
• the fact that half the city is off limits after dark (and in the daylight in some places)
• Great for families as long as you've a car
• POSH (Football team) No decent gig venue Too many pubs/clubs with pointless dresscodes Traffic Expensive housing
• Need more decent shops, Queensgate is a bit outdated now, aren't that many bad things though more to do on a Sunday afternoon would be good
• Coming back to "Pe'erburrer" at 5pm on a Saturday and encountering swarms of 20 stone bennies dressed up as footballers waddling back from the "foo'ball", smoking fags and criticising the players. As if they could even break into a jog without having a thrombie, let alone play football.
• Bennies in their late teens and upwards who are too scared to cycle in traffic and think they look hard riding at full tilt along the pavement scaring old ladies. Most of them don't know how to adjust the saddle or change gear, so they zoom past with their arse dragging on the ground and their legs going round like a fiddler's elbow, with their knees flying up above their benny hats/baseball caps. Some of them are riding girls' bikes. They look like circus chimps putting on a comedy act.
• The city council have stuck up posters inviting people to "Find out why Peterborough's a great place to live and work". Please could they tell me, because I've lived here for almost three years and I think the place is a dump. A naff sixties town centre full of Big Issue sellers, smackheads squatting in the arch under the railway bridge, street after street of depressing Victorian terraces, hideous new towns full of the socially disadvantaged, graffiti everywhere, surly taxi drivers and public transport that largely stops at 6 pm (not to mention drivers who miss out stops/complete journeys buses throughout the day as the fancy takes them).
• Bus drivers with the East Anglian attitude of "Oi jest carn't be arsed to droive along this part of moi route today. If anywarn be waitin', there be another bus in an hour. Or not." And bus drivers who deliberately don't understand passengers who aren't local.
• having to live there
• The bikers used to be particularly horrible, worse than the skinheads
• no night life if you can't pass for eighteen
• LITTLE MEXICANS WHO TRY TO CLAIM THAT THE PETERBOROUGH SKATE MASSIVE WAS ORIGINATED BY THEM, THEY WISH PSM 2001! PSM NOT PAT-SM.
• The clicky residents. It takes incommers a long, long time to build up a network of good freinds you can rely on. Lack of city centre watering holes God had the tommy tits when he created east anglia and The Borough sits right on the edge of it. London prices and provincial wages The nearest city is 35 miles away. Landlords who can't keep or pour Beer.
• Fashion wise Peterborough cant leave 1995 behind!!!
• Urgh God I remember that filthy sugar beet smell from British Sugar!!! But why did the chimney have to go!? they could have kept as a landmark in the otherwise featureless Woodston.
• the north bretton estate. its full of smack heads and drug dealers going out in there gangs looking for a fight with knifes and baseball bats... just stay away.
• The new town development and the loss of the towns extensive history.
• BLOODY KEVS!!! theres too many god dam kevs. Thats all i want to say.
• the hardcore punk scene
• A lot kevs to many wanna be hero security guards and to many police that give grief for skating. Get a life!
• Gentrification by middle class commuter types getting jobs in the hi-tech sector in Cambridge and having huge swathes of useless, decadent souless semi detached housing estates for them all to watch tv in for the rest of their lives. Fenland - boring, flat, desolate.. like the American Deep South but with more inbreeding and latent racism.
• Plenty of Kevs and Police harrasment.
• The attitude of some young people - they should widen their horizons and learn about life and themselves a little more (it makes for as more intreresting community).

• Don't know if this still happens - but the smell of the sugar beet from the sugar mill was almost unbearable (a bit like reaaly off battered fish). I used to smell it all the way down at Oundle - over 10 miles away!
• The Beggars , the little kids , the old dears who stand in the middle of the street gossiping all day and don't get out the way
• There aren't any actually, everything is average.
