• Having served with RAF in this place, I have the honour of saying this is the biggest shitehole on the arse of Scotland, and I come from Glasgow so I know what am talking about. Boddam is another toilet festering away in its own waste. There are decent folk there (I do feel sorry for em). After whinging about "Raffers" the satisfaction of the town losing around £12 million a year when the place closed brings a smile to my face. You got what you deserved cod fiddlers, I just hope that if a tsnunami ever hits this dump, the few decent punters get out in time. Hope it was worth knocking back that Chinese factory on the site of the base folks....shitty hotel instead.

• I lived in Peterhead then Fraserburgh for about 12 years and apart from a few nice people, it not very good. Best thing I did was move out it had the worst amount of drug abuse I've ever seen and the locals don't even report it in the papers hoping if they don't talk about it it will go away, sad collection of small minded bigots .

• eqmI have lived in many places all over the world and there are some terrible communities where people have to live. Nobody HAS to stay in Peterhead. There is fresh air, lovely beaches, lovely countryside around it, plenty playparks for kids and activities for kids. My one is out nearly every night. You can walk fairly safely at any time day or night. I am a nightshift worker. People are generally very friendly and I would say ignorant people do not really realise what the rest of the world is like. Most of them never leave - just moan about the place. The furthest they have been is the Broch or a package holiday to Ibiza. The town is full of spoiled little boys and girls and just as silly parents. In this town, if you are not rich - you are nothing. Well tough, because thankfully there are people who do not give a damn about what they think. People I know from all over the world like to come back. If people are unhappy - GO!

• The best thing about Peterhead is that although it is big enough so that not everyone knows what you are up to, it is small enough so that you know a lot of people. Also Monday night spinning i.e. driving upo and down the main streets of the town can be good if you have a lot of friends out in their cars aswell. Crap, if you do not know many people. Also a good range of Czech beers are available.
