Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire*
Where to go to get down
You can tell us more about Peterhead.
Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
- Anywhere ALIVE played used to be jumping. All gone now though.
- West end bar, prob still the best place for a night on the town, good karaoke bar, and nice staff.
- Queen Street if you can handle it...
- Mambos well oooocha laddie
De-ja vu AYE IS AT A JOKE!!!! Tell you once uv been there once u'll kno not to return so I dont kno why they called it that. P.S. Dont tease the ginger bouncer hes quite touchy on the subject.
- Daja Vu if u ave a lot of money cuz we are £21 pounds 4 a round 4 3 ppl!
- DeJaVo (formally known as passion) the place to go if you want to listen to crap music and pick up young tarts. Pay particular attention to the DJ pretending to use mixing decks when they're actually just pressing play on the latest "now" or "smash hits" CD.
- mambos
- St Andrews Hotel (aka Waverley Hotel) is the place to be on a saturday night there's a big fat baldy bouncer who storms about like theres fighting all the time and really the funeral parlour is busier than this pub. Theres also a woman on the door she looks a right tough nut shes got hairs on her chest the evil witch threw me out for swearing. Its like hello were all above 18 years of age.
- the tavern hiv a big mob
- The British Legion, the best by far. I was there the night rock legends ac/dc feat. Jimmy Shand played a sell out gig. It ended with Jimmy playing a cover version of the Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up" on his laserbeam accordion. At the end of an amazing accordion solo where he used the massive amps to get distorted feedback, he trew off his squeezebox and hurled himself into the moshpit, QUALITY. Legend has it that backstage after the concert, amongst the fanatic autograph hunters and groupies was a young Marlyn Manson!
- Cafe Rio wea ma best pal eddie the barman, Kareoke every night and good times to be had all round.
- Clerkhill Bin Rules!!!
- What about 'MAMBOS' (ie conti) and DEJA VU (ie Passion) and CUBE (ie Vodka Bar) and The palace and The Granada (big G) sounds like quite a lot! If all the pubs and clubs in Peterhead are so crap, then why are they packed out the door every friday and saturday? they're not that bad! a thursday night is good its not too busy, you can actually move around!!!
- hmmmm i dnt do the clubs here fraserbughrs nightlife is a lot better and so is the ppl!
- Passion Nightclub, for those that fancy a lame kick in the ribs at closing hours, from the bouncers.
- Ok - Where do you want to go after 1pm when all the pubs shut? Hmn. Option 1: Passion. Good Points? It's on the main thoroughfare. It's where all the 'young' burds go. Its . . . Ok. Bad Points now. The music ranges from Chesney Hawkes (oh yes) to the proclaimers, with an in-between of vapid pop and thrashing, epileptic rave dirges that are blasted at 500 megawatts. Oh yeah - don't turn up late, folks! You'll be 'politely' asked for "8 of your scottish pounds, please" if you turn up after 12:15am on a sunday. You know these people are church-goers, don't you?
Option #2: The Big G (or Pier 2 to all you fascists out there). Good Points: It's cheaper to gain entry than passion. It's got a new non-stick carpet. It's got a homer-simpson poster on the far wall. (?) Bad Points: The toilets are simply disgusting - I've never worked for the Environmental Health, but Bejesus! I'm horrified just recalling the necessity. It's small. Very small. The music is crap and all the people who hate Passion hate themselves as much for going there. Amen.
PS. Bring back Drummonds!!!
- The Big G is a Landmark set in the heart of Peterhead, the sweet smell of kebab meet from erolls and the gentle humming of the common seagull can only be found outside the Big G, There is however a regular who often visits the Granada nightclub, most commonly found on a friday night, his name is will not be disclosed but can be found sporting a boiler suit and nice brown steel toe cap workers boots.
- passions is a fucking dive
- Drummonds burning down was the worst thing to happen in Peterhead. I went there every weekend and always had a great time!!!
- Fields, my hoose or toads
- Have definately had some good and unforgettable times in the infamous Passion! However, looking back on the amount of bucks I've spent in that place over the past 3 years (near enough every wknd, fri & sat!), I could probably have my bought a club mysel!
- Passion. Only if you want to leave with a bottle over your head
- Passion - If you want to find yourself something cheap and young and you have a nice car waiting outside, this is the place to be. For best results make sure you wear a pair of rockports and a burburry cap.
- How about the continental: great place to take the kids.
- HIGHLANDER.well what can we say.place for depression.music system disco from the 1960,s. make sure you have glue remover for your feet.if you fancy getting a snap that uses yor bed for a toilet, this is definetly the place.3 quid to get in to the dive{you give them 6 to let you out}.The staff, a resemblinsh of the Addams Family.18 year olds banned till yer 45.
- PASSION MIN!! OR AS THE OLD FOLKS CALL IT...."PASSIONS"!!!!!!!!!!!!OR THE CALEY ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON WAYHEY!!!!
- we go to passion nightclub every weekend and its magic especially since it was redecorated the big screens are magic, and the staff are realy fine, the bouncers some of them tasty but a really good laugh, there is 3 of us girls go out each 24 years old, so we think you should give passion a try you wont be sorry.
- hahahahahah PASSION - which has just had a re-vamp but costs sooo much to get in. The Granada (or Pier II) is ok every night apart from a Sat
- Well there's Passion, which can be looked on as a joke with their so-called 'bouncers'. Next is the 'Big G', Pier II, Granada, whatever the hell you want to call it, at's aright- the floors a bit sticky and its crowded as hell, but it's still better than Passion. Been to the Creel once, I swear I'll never go back- the place is a dive.
- Passion is kinda poor, and apparently Chris Lake is DJing abroad now at places like Hong Kong, and has some record deal and his own track on a Cream compilation.
- what ever happened to the scowse bouncer at pier 2?god he was a hunk not like the neanderthals at passions, at least he was polite
- When Drummonds burned to the ground I hoped it would set a trend. However now we have Passion (if you are up for boredom, herion and headcases) and the Granada (now called Pier II for no readily explainable reason other than terminal stupidity) where you can expect to get a shag on any weekend.
- THERES SO MUCH CHOICE IN PETERHEAD........AYE RIGHT. THERES EITHER PASSION OR the big G.
- Passion (if u can call that a club)
Big G (old folks home with sticky floor)
Highlander (people who are banned from everywhere else)
- w.c fields is ok passion is good plenty of talent........
- The only places is Passion or Peir II(BETTER KNOWN AS GRANADA)But even they are pretty crap
- passion the bouncers couldnt even bounce a bouncy ball never mind a bunch of raven junkies. The granada now known as peir 2 where only the over 40s go or the spotty guys that ganna even get a snap fae the desperate slags that go to passion
- Got to be the Palace!!!
- why not check out the now infamous bouncers at passion, acting as though they are the personel bodyguards for madonna.check out there boom mikes they wear incase of trouble so they can radio in backup.....great.what a bunch of wankers. espicially him with the tattoo on the back of his head, a real hardman.
- I think Passions in crap and i harldy think we could call Chris Lake A DJ!!!!!!!
- Scotty's Barn!!
- Passion is shite cuz its a rip off The bounchers haven't got a clue either. Big G is for over 50's only.
- Passion is wicked, man.The only downer is that a yocal bouncer with skinhead with a tattoo of a cliterious on the back of his head stops you now and then cause he wants to strip search you and make you squeal like a pig, boy.RESPECT
- 'Passion' minimum requirement for entry - little clothing (girls), drama certificate (so you are able to look drunk even though you and you're ten mates have only shared a litre of cider), youthfulness(!!) ie once you've hit the big 3 0 this place is a no go
- Highlander is the only nightclub worth going to in peterhead the rest just dont compare.
- peir 2 is ok but the bouncers can be right pain in the arses and ban you for the slightest thing.
- Just to point out Peterheads amazing cinema closed down about 3 years ago it is now the highly acclaimed "passion" night club. One of only 2 in "the toon" Pier 11 being the other. The more upper class ie; 'fishers / cherries' attend Passion where as the working class folk feel more at home in Pier 11 more commonly known as the Granada to us locals. However fishers and commoners alike mingle at the infamous Zanries chippy for a bite to eat and a good old heated debate at closing time after both sets have had a wee drinkie. The local bobbie keeps an ever watchfull eye on old and young alike at times like these while waiting for the parents of the youngfolk to pick them up. Unless they are friendly with a young fisherman who will stop on his way to his 'park' at the cemetry to give them a lift in his sooped up motor. Earplugs are recommended on these journeys as it is mandatory to play one's in car stereo at full blast.
- the only place that is remotely interesting in peterhead is the granada. theplace is too crowded, passion too smoky, voda bar has no life, waverly is too near the police station, continental is next to a fish and chip shop, REALLY GLAMOROUS!!!
- Passions night club a mystical fountain of youth I tried it once but when I left I was still an overweight thirty something perhaps it was due to the fact I only stayed for ten mins, but I regretted it later when the place closed and I saw the remarkably fresh faced patrons who had stayed the course and reaped the full benefit of the mystical fountain vacate the premises.
- PIER II IS TRULY AN AMAZING NIGHTSPOT THE FEATURES LIST AS FOLLOWS
1. A STICKY FLOOR? (THAT WHEN DRUNK, FORCES YOU TO BELIEVE YOU CAN WALK UP THE WALLS).
2. A DJ WHO REFUSES TO PLAY ANY "TUNE" THAT IS NOT IN THE TOP TEN AND THE MIXING IS SHOCKING EVENT. BEATS SO OUT OF SYNC, DOES THIS MAN OWN A PITCH SLIDER?.
3. A BAR THAT TAKES AT LEAST HALF AN HOUR TO BE SERVED(ADMITTEDLY NO FAULT OF THE BAR STAFF BUT OF SECTION "4." READ ON).
4. YOU SPEND HALF OF YOUR NIGHT OUT NOT BEING ABLE TO MOVE. IS THIS THE STICKY FLOOR? OR THE SHEER AMOUNT OF PEOPLE AROUND YOU(ABOUT 400 PEOPLE IN A CLUB WITH THE ABILITY TO HOLD ABOUT 200) ((PLEASE NOT MY STATS MY BE WRONG BUT YOU GET THE IDEA)).
5. OTHER THAN THE ABOVE STATED PROBLEMS IT IS A GOOD NIGHT OUT FOR ALL THE FAMILY!!!.
- What is the problem with G3? It IS one of the coolest places in Peterhead. I guess those who slag it off are feeling threatened in some way. These kids are enjoying themselves and are not ALL Christian Scum. What happened to a tolerant society. The yobbos want to rule do they?
- Well gee if you can call Passion a night club...
- bloody "passion"!
- Passion...hmmm well!!!!
Granada...hahaha
- Passion for the nob ends and druggies of the town, Granada for slightly dodgy and those banned from the rockin? Passion, The Creel for those banned from everywhere and general waiffs and strays.
- the granada is good for a night out, however you have to appreciate the irony of the place. passion is ridiculous although it is worth going in to laugh at the "dj" who tries his best to play slammin' choonz.
- passion, but often a few teenie boppers scuttle past the bouncers
- Flannigans niteclub has now been replaced by a vodka bar, it's ok.
- Wc Fields or 'Fields' is the place to be! It is situated at the edge of town, near the prison.
It has a selection of chart and dance musuc mixed by the Resident DJ, Marc Reid (supposedly Aberdeen's finest).
The average age would range from fifteen to early twenties. The vodkas are preety crap but the price is right.
Furtheremore, at 12:30 am 'Passion' is the new club to go to situated in the old Playhouse. Drastically over charged (£6 or even £8 for guest DJ's), the resident DJ's are Somerfield's own Alan Taylor and Rod J(?)
The music is a wee bit 'hard' but has improved in recent weeks. Althogh not Drummonds standard as yet.
- New club opening soon at The Playhouse Cinema, early July '99
- No more Drummonds, since it burnt down but still Pier II and the Palace is also popular along with the Continental.
- The fact that Drummonds has now burned down should be looked upon as hilarious.
- The town does have a few "nightclubs" (term used loosely) - principally Drummonds on Windmill St and Pier 18 (I think that's it's name - it used to be called the Granada) at Drummonds corner, and the Continental on Queens Street.
- Dee-Jays Nightclub, The Royal Hotel and The Ship Inn. Unfortunately, all are crap and there is far too much rubbishy Indy music.
