- Try Petersfield Heath, public open space, ancient barrows dating back 5000years, ancient heathland and wildlife, ecological management plan in operation. Also Petersfield Pond on the Heath (looks like a lake but is not deep enough), good for fishing and boating (boats supplied). The heath is the jewel in petersfield's crown - new millenium walk for those using wheelchairs - plus special parking place for disabled vehicles.
- the interesting proportion of stoned adolesents attending Bedales school.Did Mini Driver really go there or was she just a hallucination? - who knows, who cares?
- The high concentration of good looking, polite and generally nice blokes from Bedales sixth form.
- Very little ever happens here.
- The lake and the surrounding countryside for long walks
- Quiet enough to be restful, lively enough to be interesting.
- It's on the main line to London so you can get the hell out.
