• The Plumpton Panto in January is something you MUST NOT miss! It is the event of the year and the whole village comes to see it, as well as people from all over sussex, because its always that brilliant. Though meks sure you get tickets early, cos it always sells out fast! I've been going to see it since I can remember, and still love it. Its something for all ages, whether you're 8 or 80 or anything in between. The jokes always have the entire audience in fits (especially if you go on the last night!), theres lots of ad-libbing, the music and acting is great, and it really brings the whole village together. Newick Bonfire - Forget Lewes, Newick is the way forward! There's less of a crushing crowd, its safer, the atmosphere is friendlier, and the fireworks are even better!

• It's about five miles from Haywards Heath, about one mile from the South Downs.
• I'll tell you about the local rugby club: It is quite unique in that the pitch and clubhouse are located in the centre of the local racecourse. Founded in 1967 it runs one team in the Sussex League 3. We toured to N. Ireland at Easter 95 and plan a European tour for Spring 96. The team is quite multi-national with Irish, Scots and South Africans complimentating the local players. Come along to a game - Saturday afternoons 2.30pm.
