- Veggie Perrins and I've heard good things about a kurdish spot near Toys r us.
- Bar ZeegCo on Frankfort Gate serves delicious food at low prices. The name of the place is a bit deceptive as it is nothing like a bar really, more like a small restaurant. I've been there many times and never been disappointed. There is food to suit many different tastes.
- woolys of course
- Captn' Jaspers.
- maccy d's
- Ben Du feu does some grate home grown lettice
- Oggy Oggy Pasty Co! Its tastier than McDonalds! Really nice pasties - not just cornish ones. Legend. Mutley Plains has a Dominoes pizza, and theres the normal burger king and KFC etc. On union street there are lots of little kebab shops that feed you after a hard night clubbing. And of course, for those who live in Halls or near Regent street, near the Roundabout pub is "Jakes" which do really nice filled baguettes, open 24 hrs a day, and smothered with melted cheese. Really nice.
- New Japanese restaraunt in Notte Street Yakashan is cool, Veggie Perrins for the Best veggie curry, Cafe India in Stoke, Goodbodys in Mutley for Fryups and late night drinking, Tanners for simply the best food in Plymouth
- my favourite place is 'wah tins' japanese restaurant which provides really great food. However, they experinced problems because there was a nasty rumour spread about them which wasn't true. Other than that all you need is 'Captain Jaspers' which is on the barbican and does the best fish & chips ever.
- City Charcoal Grill, Mutley Plain: cheapest kebabs.
Mr John's, North Hill: Cheapest pizza
Dominos
- ali babas next to c103
- 'Mr Johns', located along North Hill, does the cheapest pizza in the world.
- Eastern Eye on Notte Street for value curry. KFC in St. Budeaux Square gets a mention for being ace. Oggy Oggy Pasty Shops for top oggies.
- Plymouth is very bad for restaurants. You turn up at a pub or cafe in the Barbican, on Mutley Plain or on North Hill in the early evening to find that they have stopped serving food. Try to find a decent restaurant in the city centre only to find that it's taken a block booking as people tend to dine out in large packs. I usually end up getting a burger at Capn Jaspers in the Barbican almost every time and it's cheap, offers fresh air and good views of the waterfron.
- Subway on the Barbican, quality meatball subs!!
- Jakes!Behind PCAD. Cheesy chips..mmmmmmm also veggie sausages with cajun sauce and salad in a baguette...YUMMY!!
- Best fish and chip shop in the world, Dean Cross in Plymstock - amazing fish and chips.
- the pasta and pizza bar on the barbican also wah tin on north hill and the wet wok on the waterfront. all lovely places to go.
- I can't believe noone has mentioned Captain Jasper's on the Barbican. Try the foot and a half (hotdog) of the Jasperizer (burger).
- Lorenzos rocks for food: nachos, bread and olives, chorizo quesidillas, yum!
Bistro Bene is expensive but lovely.
Lanterns Greek restaurant does a lovely cheap lunch menu with good quality.
Platters restaurant does the best Bouillabase (fish soup) I've ever tasted.
- Don't know. Nice fish and chips in Marlborough Street, and also at Woolwell.
- MacD, burger king, Pizza hut
- Macdonalds, Pizza Hut is probs the nicest
- Veggie Perrins, I didn't get where I am today by eating meat.
- chez nous is a great restaurant.
- perrillas!!!
- Why has no one bothered to write about the best, absolutely fab, chinese restaurant in Plymouth. It's the Hoe Cantonese behind the Cannon cinema and great value for Lunch (£5.70 for three courses) better book though.
- Mr John's, on North Hill, is a must for chips, cheese and curry sauce lovers the world over. If you haven't tried them, get your butts (and guts) along now. Service has been somewhat friendlier since Mrs John took over some years ago.
- Ride (next to Cuba)- opened end of 2000 I think - does really nice/cheap paninis and ciabattas and is actually a great place to drink if you can deal with all that 'London Grey' that they've painted it with. Don't get too pissed after your last exam as the stools are about as easy to sit on as those big spring mounted animal heads you get in children's playgrounds.
- The waterfront has changed hands twice in 3 years ,so will be diffrent than when he/she worked there .
- Jakes! Near the student halls. A Great place for hangover and drunken food!
- Everyone should try one of 'Jakes' Bacon and cheese melt because they are amazing
- Lorenzo's does the most amazing Nachos and it is a nice atmosphere. Service not always with a smile but Edmund does pop in now and again.
Also try the Pasta Bar on the Barbican but don't have a starter with your main meal cos you'll never eat it. Good value for money, strange candles.
- Cuba ! - cheap extremely good food and nice place too ( if you dont mind students !)
- LOTS OF PASTYS
- "THE CAFFEINE CLUB". all our food is vegetarian. Thanks guys Regards Gareth p.s come down 4 a coffee!
- The Waterfront,Grand Parade,The Hoe. Was brilliant when I worked there for food and atmosphere when I worked there three years ago.
- 'Cuba Cafe', Bar, Restaurant, trendy opposite University
- 'The Caffeine Club' strong coffee, behind City Library
- 'Goodbody's' the new look Goodbody's wine bar cafe nice!
- McD's, Kentucky, Burger King, etc.
- Cuba, opposite University
- Lorenzo's next door to MGM cinema
- Domino's Pizza, Mutley Plain
- Ganges Indian, by the Bretonside Bus Station
