Buskers, Street Entertainers
  • Seagull Poo Guy - Stay Clear
  • Jack the Town Crier is hilarious and not the same old boring git type - Barbican, Hoe and City Centre Seagull Poo Guy often seen around the Barbican covered in poop and regularly dive bombed by seagulls Pilgrim Sid The Barbican Pilgrim look a like at the Mayflower Steps looks great but spins a few too many tales - tip him for photographs he has a bad knee and won't go on benefits
  • Calvin Prior is probably the best busker I have ever seen, a 14 year old kid playing guitar like a pro
  • Harakiri Karaoke (Bus Station Loony Chris Wheelchair playing the organ and wearing a sparkly waistcoat), Vic "Bongoland" Richards (the man with 2 hats and a cuddly toy), Las Vegas Elvis geezer, Alco the Clown, Jojo the nudie photographer and TV presenter
  • Take a look at my website http://website.lineone.net/~macvicar it has my story as drummer in a band that toured with THE BEATLES.
  • the mad lettice man
  • Theres a lady with OCD that wanders the streets of plymouth searching for batteries. Oh and there's Afroman. You'll find him.....
  • Gypsy Acora for sure
  • that guy thats sells whistles hes funny!
  • In the city centre there are 2 spots, one by the sundial and another one further up where there are usually entertainers or groups of some kind doing something. Its good to have, makes the town more interesting as its a sea of concrete with crap boring old buildings.
  • A guy in his 50s (probably) who walks around the city centre and surrounding areas, most commonly spotted at Bretonside Bus Station in the mornings, and outside the university's Babbage Building. Dubbed 'The Babbage Tramp'. Wears a filthy brown coat, and always scratches his back with his left hand. 'Fagman': A very old guy in a grey coat, who walks around Mutley (particularly Houndiscombe Road), asking everyone he passes (usually students) for fags. Tends to all but jump out at people, standing right close to them, but is far too old to be intimidating. Often seen sticking his hand in the parking meters, in the hope of finding change.
  • Some tramp of about 50 who spends all day walking around Plymouth, commonly spotted at Bretonside Bus Station and outside the university's Babbage Building. Has a filthy coat, and constantly scratches his back with his left hand. Smells like he's not bathed/showered in years. Dubbed as the 'Babbage Tramp'. 'Fagman'. Walks around Mutley (Houndiscombe Road in particular), asking students (mainly, given the high number of students locally) for fags. Tends to come right up close to you, unexpectedly, but is too old to be intimidating. Will ask the same people for fags day after day, regardless of whether or not they've stated previously that they don't smoke.
  • Spoons- he isthe guy playing the spoons outside Mellenium night club, dont give him money though cuz he is a smack head!
  • Our Kev from the SWP is still out from time to time. Power to the people!
  • A 16 year old skating tramp called Toby Burrows. Can also been seen on Saturday nights at Liskeards one and only club ` Jacks` and most school days at Liskeards 6th Form. Does very good actions to White Flag by Dido.
  • Capn Jasper, the burger bar owner, when he was alive.
  • Theres a couple of gingers who pay Leveller tunes normally near what was the old C&A (near Marks and Sparks). One is a fat guy the other thin. But they look great with their little flutes and stringed lyres! Throw em' a coin!!!
  • the guy that slaps a spoon against his privates outside millenium...always makes the what seems to be everlasting que to the biggest and probably the most stinkin club in plymouth...the only club were ur guaranteed to end up in the middle of a fight/have a drink poured down u or at least be stood on.
  • That bloke who always used to push a shopping trolley full of junk round town and sleep by the sundial
  • i have to say plymouth most probably has the most friendliest and entertaining buskers any where. has anyone ever noticed how all the buskers have a scottish accent.
  • All brilliant!
  • everywhere in the city center
  • In the walkway bit over the road to Toys R Us!!!Always someone there to dance along to!
  • FUK OFF
  • try the main city centre. there are always entertainers there, from the navy to christians preaching about jesus
  • sundial
  • BIRD MAN!
  • Who the hell is the strange tramp lady who keeps walking past my house and around Mutley/Lipson. She wears strange skimpy dresses and shorts, and carries all her belongings in a bin bag. She always looks off her head and definitely qualifies as a street entertainer!
  • Every Christmas there's the man who strums by the Sundial with far too much of that reverb pedal he's got - local mums just stand there in a sort of daze watching him pluck along to a lame backing track and still buy his home made CDs... TOO MUCH REVERB!!! Oh - and the strange man/woman thing that sells the local rag in the town centre by screaming an indecipherable holler every 5 minutes whilst sitting in a wooden cubicle
  • Lots of Crap ones!
  • Outside Millennium every night a tramp called the spoon man entertains the freezing crowd cueing up to get in, he walks a long the line playing the spoons and smaking them against his small privates, a wiked dude who never fails to get a good reception.
  • The green zig zag bridge between Frankford gate and Pavillions
  • The guitar playing, Bryan Adams sounding guys under the subways. The drunks are worth a look too. The God Squad in the middle of town by the sundial. Also the people who put soap powder in the fountain are a right laugh!
  • SHOULD ALL BE LOCKED AWAY ESPECIALLY THE ONES THAT PAINT THEMSELVES WHITE AND THE CRAZY PREACHING GANG
  • Crazy guitarists in subways. Sometimes street entertainment in the city centre by Virgin Records.
