  • The White Rabbit, in the bus station, the side furthest from staples, has exceptional live music, bouncers that actually allow u back in after taking a call, bar staff that will allow you to put ur drinks behind the counter, and oh yeah, a pole for dancing!!!! Also makes with the comfy sofa's so you dont have to stand around or attempt to 'dance' to enjoy the music.
  • The Hub (behind Plymouth Pavillions) is a good place, cheap to get in and has had good local bands playing there for a few years. It has a fun atmosphere and the only place around Plymouth where you can see live bands a few nights a week. Plymouth Pavillions is also getting better too and is attracting bigger bands.
  • The Nowhere Inn, White Rabbit, The Junction, The Firkin Doghouse, The Seymour Arms, The Breton Arms, the b-bar, The Fortescue
  • the junction, the cooperage, phoenix
  • The Hub in Bath Street (behind the Pavilions). Quite a new Live Music Venue, but by far the best. The Cooperage, Junction, or Pheonix aren't in the same league. All the best unsigned bands play the Hub, and the best of local talent play there too.
  • The Phoenix. Once again.
  • The Junction, Mutley Plain
  • Pavillions! They ahve the big bands like Greenday coming.
  • If you like good music (you know who you are) then the Quey Club monday/wednesday. Jazz cafe also good (guess what type of music).
  • The Phoenix if you want decent local bands or the Pavillions get some good bands like Machine Head and Greenday.
  • Pavillions and the Bus stop cafe are the only real venues
  • open mike night tuesdays at voodoo lounge
  • Cooperage for classic Ska (Bad Manners, Selecter, Desmond Dekker, Too Hot). Pavillions for names (Travis, Manics, Motorhead). Dance Academy used to be just plain 'Academy', and hosted loads of Indie bands in the 80s. (Alien Sex Fiend to The Wedding Present).
  • FreakJam Open-Mike Nite every Monday 9pm-2am @ The Good Companions (www.goodiesplymouth.co.uk)
  • Plymouth Pavilions is the biggest venue for bands.
