  • The Odd Wheel in Wembury is amazing.
  • The Brewery Tap on Stonehouse Creek roundabout. Proper working class place, dead friendly and cheap. Live footy, pool table, dodgy 70's and 80's disco, the works.
  • The Nowhere Inn, Gilwell Street (slap-bang in the middle of Radnor and Robbins Halls of Residence, up past the Art College and Cop Shop, behind the central library
  • the junction, rock music and bands and footy and pool and darts
  • Old Orleans has great food and a nice selection of cocktails
  • The Commercial on Lambay Hill is a wonderful little 1 room pub run by the owners Mike and Norma lockyer. Not a place to go if you want loud music etc. but a great place for a sandwich at lunch time or a good pint of beer in the evening, mostly locals who will make you feel welcome. Sunday lunch time is a great time to visit. Note..closed from 4pm Sunday - 11am Tuesday. "Best little pub is the Southwest".
  • Its gota be the good conpanyones the place to be if you under 14 or over 50
  • Skiving Scholar: looks like a dive but is quite cool, nice drink called the "Terminator" - try it. Fresher and Professor - v.quiet, where mature students hang out, they do nice food there. Roundabout - really nice, and money off if you have a "Yellowcard." Cuba and Ride are a bit cramped, I reckon. Those are the usual student locals.
  • Cuba/Ride. Been, you know it!
  • Phoenix up union street between dance academy and choices
  • Good pubs in Stonehouse, The Milbridge and out of town country pubs. Cool little pub on Burgh Island worth checking out
  • There is student bar called 38* and its really cool. Other ones are around the same area (like cube, skiving scholar and fuel) and are mainly used by the university and plymouth college of art & design students.
  • Skiving Scholar: Students galore. The Roundabout: See above.
  • Duchy of cornwall is cool
  • Wetherspoon's, Union Rooms, Boomerang, Walkabout.
  • The Unity was the best pub in Plymouth but its just been demolished to make way for a inner city mall!
  • The Fishermans Arms on the Barbican for top ales, but a bit of a 'locals' pub. 2 Twigs for dancin'.
  • I like the Queen's head on the Barbican its a great place if you want some local gossip and one of the locals there won the National Lottery a couple of years ago, get to know him and he might buy you a pint!
  • The Nowhere has become a bikers pub?!?! EEEK! Say it aint so!!! The Skiving Scholar, hmmm, maybe teacher will find some of her students here...
  • Langdon Court in Wembury - fantastic candlelit wine bar, dogs and children are welcomed
  • Try the Borringdon Arms in Turnchapel. You can get a ferry across in the summer i think. Very cool old pub with real beers.
  • cafe sol is the best cocktail bar eva its on mutley plain...any of the wetherspoons pubs are also popular...spesh union rooms or the mannamead. Cuba, boardriders and ride are normally full of gorgeous guys...nice!!!!
  • Stay away from Union Street if you enjoy looking pretty and dont like the taste of razor sharp shards of glass.
  • The Wheatsheaf, now the cornerhouse bottom of cornwall street
  • The pubs in Mutley, much better than the standard ones in the city
  • if you're going on a pub crawl go to the barbican as you have a good mix of pubs their.
  • Caseys and The Revenue are pretty interesting. They are at Marlborough Street shopping centre, Devonport. Beer is good!

  • the hedgehog in mutley plain and the bluebird in compton are both really good.
  • union rooms bretons bar
  • There are so many pubs in Plymouth that if you attempted a pub crawl through them all you would undoubtedly never walk again!
  • The Fortescue, Mutley. Good jukebox, good beer garden.
  • watch out for the so called tce (the central element) they frequent gay clubs & control door staff & then the nazi bleeders will start something & you will have no chance so be careful
  • The China House on the barbican is good... proper log fire in winter.
  • Charlie's off Drake Circus is good for a lunch time pint and for chatting to complete strangers. The Good Companions, next door sadly became a 7 nights a week karaoke venue a couple of years back, and has never recovered.
  • Brook Inn..Plympton, St.Maurice..WIKKID!
  • Fool and Firkin for loads of live sport
  • Cider Press (upstairs) is good. Make sure you get on the tables but mind yer head! For an old fashioned, coal fire pub try The Crooked Inn just outside Saltash. Bit of a treck but well worth it It's a journey you could only do once a month cos you're car's suspension would be shot to bits!
  • 1. The Nowhere inn - Small and chilled, seek and ye shall find ! 2. The Seymour Arms - another luvly one tucked well away, but try and find it !
