- there is nothing better than a jam doughnut at the bakery (la boungerie)...a market on wednesday has a fruit and veg, clothes, flowers, gadgets...all the norms from the market scene...
- The Castle Shore common ground which lies between Portsmouth Harbour, Portchester Castle, Castle Street and the Castle Industrial Estate, is an absolute delight. Fareham Council have a great guy (name sadly mislaid) who is really open to all new ideas, and they have changed the management of the area so it is now an absolute haven for plants, birds, insects, but still "useful" for recreation with flat cut bits for footie, kite flying, etc..
