  • Bassett Arms for the hilarious quiz night. Check out the compere, he should be locked in a cage with Russell Brand.
  • had a couple of meals and drinks at the basset today:- the becks could have been colder.the chicken was an interesting pink colour that looked good on the plate but didnt fancy eating it, and are undercooked chips a local delicacy,we tend not to like them too hard in the eastern part of the county
  • The waterfronts now been taken over by Clem & Helen who have put the pool table back and have a sense of humour
  • Trevor & charlie have left the waterfront & the pool table is back
  • Waterfront is under new management. Helen is the new Landlady and she is doing a fantastic job, brought the pool table back, she does struggle a bit with the pub and her bimbling husband (flem) trying to help. Just go over and have a chat with him he will crack you up! Ask him why he doesn't wear shorts!!
  • The Waterfront is know under new management, a lovely women called Helen is running the pub and doing a great job too, even if she has the disadvantage of her husband Flem helping out! Oh yea, they do happy hour between 6 and 8 every weekday. 2 drinks for 1!! And the pool table is back!!!
  • The Portreath Arms is the greatest pub in the village - the food it sells is restaurant quality and the menu so varied. You can guarantee to find fresh local fish on the specials board! The beer is the best around by far - the landlord (Ian) really knows what he is doing there. With a warm welcome and a friendly atmosephere there really is nowhere else to be.
  • waterfront is not as bad as people have made out. charlie and trev always make you feel welcome and stay beyond your planned leaving time
  • update on the basset arms, portreath: craig the twat has left, 3 years ago, the foods great, the beers better than portreath arms, they suck really, and dick p is a twat! still.. but apparently sober!! (for once). the irish reccomend the guiness and paula! everybody welcome, unless ur ugly.... then u can go to the waterfront!
  • Trevor and Charlie at the Waterfront are fine by me. Always welcoming and they keep a realyy good pint............true they dont like the fresh faced crowd.who does.Good atmoshere when entertainment on be warned Dick as Sid Vicous doing my way is unforgetable
  • The basset on fridays. Phelix boing the quiz and theres turty questions not turty tre.
  • bassett arms--- love that pub! best one i know (except jc's @ UWS)
  • Best pub has got to be Portreath arms.
  • The basset arms! best pub in the village and the barmaid are quite cute too!!
  • Of the Portreath Arms, Waterfont and Basset Arms, the Portreath Arms is a must. The landlord, Ian is a sound bloke. A great place to stop by for a late-un!!!
  • The bassett is now under ownwership, The waterfront Comments are unfair Trevor makes everybody welcolme, charlie perhaps questionable &, the food is ok but perhaps expensive for frozen, the Ops room has been closed for at least 5 yrs or more, must admit Dick P is a pratt.
  • Basset arms in Portreath is alright but the landlord (Craig) jumps on you as soon as you come in the door. The food is great and the play area is ideal for the kids. The waitress are always smiling and Denise will tend to your every need!! Paula needs her eyes tested!!!
  • UPDATE: The Waterfront Inn used to be the hippest pub in the village, that was until doom struck (by doom we mean Trevor & Charlie the new Managers). They stopped the loud music, no more foul languge (which isn't such a bad thing) and now to top everything off they have taken the pool table away!!! WARNING: If you are caught having a good time in the Waterfront Inn then beware as they might remove the beer too!!! The best pub in the village now has got to be the Portreath Arms Hotel, you can have great food, play pool and Ian the landlord keeps the best ale in the Village (Probably County actually). If you like Guinness then here is the place for you!
  • The Portreath Arms (now the only pub in the village with a pool table) caters for all, Great food, Great Beer, Best Guiness in the village and it even has bedrooms if you can't quite make it home! A true locals pub.
  • Don't bother with the Bassett arms, the Landlord's a twat. The Portreath arms and the Waterfront Inn are the only cred places in the village.
  • If you are into SCUBA Diving visit the Portreath Arms Hotel and speak to Sharon who is well versed on the best dives around the coast of Cornwall
  • The Basset Arms has a great new Play Area for the kids,a childrens menu & plenty of garden tables plus a Conservatory.
  • There are 3 pubs, in this little village. For the younger people (18 - 30), the "WATERFRONT" is the one for them. There is 1 hotel, and numerous b&b's. "Suhalie" (mis-spelt ) - I recommend.
