- The Bangkok Thai restaurant on Albert Road is great value for money and really good quality. The Goose at the V&A do a great value fry up (£3.50 and you get plenty). Mumms Cafe opposite Festing Road deserves a mention too.
The White Room thai restuarant on the Seafront do a great all you can eat buffet on certain nights with discounts for students. Check the Wine Vault for meal deals, and also have some of their Nachos!
- There's a lot of little cafe's in eastney, if you're there you can probably be sure to get a good meal.
- St Mary Road. Chippie. 80p for a large....decent
- The cafe at the Hard, cheap and lovely!

- The Osborne, Osborne Road Southsea, really good food and lots of it at sensible prices too. This is a great place to meet up with mates for a hearty breakfast - great value for money. Superb coffee and good atmosphere too!
- Barnabys in Osbourne Road.... not only one of the best restaurants I have been to in Portsmouth but also one of the best value restaurants in Hampshire
- Everyone is forgetting Monster Micks burger van on Portsdown Hill viewpoint... The Animal and the Blowout rule!! Quality late night grease laden eats!!
- Golden Crown takeaway in Fawcett Road. Yummy Chinese. The Churchillian on top of Portsdown Hill. If you haven't tried it you should. Same Road Fisherman's Wharf Truly great english fish and chips.
- There is a great balti house in Albert road by the one stop.
- Hi thought i would let you know about a little known burger van in Claybank rd in copner, it has the biggest selection you could ever want, and the food is the BEST i've had from a burger van, they even does an all day breakfast. they are open 7.30 am to 2 pm mom to fri. i'll give them 10/10 . they are called "FRYERS TASTY FOODS" and tasty is what they are. from paul
- Sunday mornings would not be the same witout the Waverley Cafe, Waverley Road. Also Ken's Kebabs (Osborne Road and Albert Road)- run by Ken and Naz - go in there once and they know you forever!
The Noble House for great eastern food - hundreds of things on the menu and at least half are veggie!

- Stranded at Lees, excellent Chinese place in Palmerston Road where you can eat as much as your gut can take for £7.99, excellent dishes and a good range of them.
- Noble House
Cantonese at it`s best, Service is the best anywhere in the UK.
- It's got to be Beckett's wine bar and restaurant for me. Hampshire Terrace;
near to Shorties. All sorts of wine of course, and absolutely gorgeous food.
The prices are about £3-4 for starter £7-10 for main and £3-5 for desserts
(approx)! Try the lamb - it's always excellent. And the raspberry brulee is
to die for. An orgasm on a plate!!! Wooden floorboards, small conservatory
at the back, and a nice ambience to the place. 10 out of 10.

- Shorties Restaurant in Bellevue Terrace has the tastiest food around. The friendly service and huge helpings make this place special for any occassion. Well worth going to just to see their ice-creams! Ken's Kebab's on Osborne Road or Albert Road is the place to end up on a Friday night piss-up. Do it!
- Southsea Tescos = cheap, open every day for sandwiches etc. Ken's Kebab House: 38 Osbourne Road, Southsea.
- Here's my top three restaurants in Southsea/Portsmouth:
- Wine Vaults Albert Rd: Choice of five veggie and five meat meals, plus a pint for £3 every Sunday and Monday. Lots of real ales always on tap.
- Fist full of Tacos, Albert Rd: Mexican/US type food, getting expensive but always good.
- Balti house, Albert Rd: Chicken/Veg/Meat Balti £3.50 include a nan bread. Brill.
- Time For Change - Vegan Wholefood Shop - Fawcett Road, Southsea.
