  • Fawcett Inn, Southsea. student night on Mondays, Open mic nights on alternate Weds, free pool & juke box on Thursdays, Karaoke on Fridays & live bands on Saturdays. Sky sports & about to launch a bar menu. Excellent, friendly, local pub which is very welcoming to students & has recently undergone a refurb so looking all clean & fresh!

  • Decent pubs without the burberry clad idiots: The One Eyed Dog (Elm Grove), The Honest Politician (Elm Grove), The Registry (Winston Churchill Avenue), The Wine Vaults (Albert Road), Cafe Citrus (albert Road), Bar Black/Wonkey Donkey/The Atrium (all next to each other, Albert Road)
  • The RMA is a good spot for older people who like music and playing pool, there's a skittle alley too (last free one in pomey). Some of the music they have in is pretty cool.
  • That funny little pub opposite Iceland's up the ally. Was featured in an old war film. Real spit 'n' sawdust kind of hovel but great for hiding away in a dark corner with a bottle of what eva your fancy and great pack of old pals

  • Guildhall always attracts a good crowd.
  • Commercial Road has gained an australian style bar - it's a great atmosphere.
  • The Registry, havana, one eyed dog and honest polly attract a good crowd and aren't badly priced. Get yourself a yellow card and its £1.70 a pint in the reg! Proper Bo!!

Here you will find reviews of the most popular Bars, Clubs and Restaurants in Portsmouth. Find out where is hot, post your own reviews and vote for your favourite Portsmouth venues.
  • The Osborne, Osborne road, great pub, great atmosphere, well mix of age groups young and old alike. But don't even try to get served if your under age, the owner, Fabian is a real stickler and doesn't tolerate any nonsense which is why it is such a pleasure to go there nowadays. Well worth a visit.
  • Has to be Oysters... great atmosphere, great people
  • Walkabout rocks! Three times in - three women pulled. The Ship Anson at the Warrior is good as a starting place for a wild night out.
  • every1 go to the registry! wicked pub in Commy road which attracts a 'fresh faced crowd'
  • just thought I'd mention the Atrium which seems to have been forgotten. They never advertise but every time I go back to Pompey, I make sure to go there. It's opposite the One Eyed Dog (formerly Green Goose) and the atmosphere is really col. Don't blink or you'll miss it. It's next to (probably) the messiest book shop in the weatern world.
  • If your under age try world wines, the south afrecan in their would serve a 5 year old.
  • Old Portsmouth/Camber Docks area great selection of atmospheric pubs.
  • It may have a bad a bit of a reputation for dodgey deals and dogdey people BUT they have a non-dodgey chef who does some great non-dodgey home cooked grub at a reasonable price. Beers £1.40 a pint, spirits around the 95p mark. Incredibly sexy bar staff and a good tinme all round. See you there! Tell the bar staff you saw it on the net and they may (more likely not) offer you a freebie!

  • Yates Wine Lodge - cool because I work there.
  • Victory Pub Southsea Leisure Park
  • Hogshead in Palmerston Road is cool, and near to the clubs in southsea too.
