I am hoping that local residents can help me in my research. My father Victor Gordon Lunn(deceased) was an instrument technician at Thames Board Mills in the 1930's. In 1936 he was sent to Warrington to manage the instrument installation at their new factory on the river Mersey. He ended up settling there. His address in Purfleet in 1933 was 8 River View Terrace and sometime later he moved to live at 173 Heath View Rd N, Little Thurrock then 8 Sherfield(?) Rd in Grays. What I would like information on is: 1. Do these three addresses still exist? 2. Have the board mills been demolished now? 3. What District is Thurrock in? 4. Greetings from Australia! Are there any descendants of JAMES ODONALD IVORY (b. 1879, Aylmerton, Norfolk) still living in the Purfleet area? The above was living at "Shawfields", Purfleet Road, Aveley, Purfleet, when his mother (my great grandmother) SUSAN GOTTS died there 27.2.1940. I would love to make contact with any of JAMES ODONALD IVORYs family. Any info. would be appreciated.
