The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call
You can tell us more about Ramsey.
Pubs
- A friend tells me the Rose and Crown is the best in town ..but I haven't found it yet
- What a horofic place to live, I have just left, thank god! Had to suffer my whole teenage life there, and good god it is grim!
The locals have a terrible accent, and the local blokes aged between around 13 and 60 have terrible attitudes, they think they are tough and they want to fight YOU!
Ramsey is the sort of place, if your sitting on a bench in the street, drivers and passengers in cars driving past will look at you, horrificly local! God I hate it there!
If your not a recognised bona fide local, dont risk the pubs, trust me, they wont like you.
- I just want to disagree with the person who wrote about the pubs down Ramsey! For Starters the George does not have a pinball machine! It is a well respected pub which has a wide variety of people com into it from all age groups. On a Friday and saturday night it is the only pub open after 11 and so there for absolutly brilliant! It has a great beer garden for in the summer and a good juke box. Sometimes it can get so packed that your not even able to have a simple game of pool... and yet people still try!
The Hawk is also a quality bar, The landlord is entertaining to say the least and will do anything to get into the holiday spirit no matter what the occasion. There are a few fresh faces in there every so often but still an entertaining place.
- The George has LOTS of friendly faces (i work there!). The hawk attracts a few fresh faced people, the Kickers (three horse shoes) ONLY attracts fresh faced people! the railway, the angel and the jolly sailor all attreact the wrinkly faced people - snore fest!!! and then theres the White Lion in bury which is improveing with our presence!
- the railway
- Ramsey has quite a few pubs with a variety of characters.
- Okay the George can be alright and the Sports bar is good with two pool tables, table football and pinball. However, at times it can lack an atmosphere. The Hawk is always busy and has quite a young clientel but unlike in the George the staff are allways friendly and have a good laugh. The Jolly Sailor is a good Real Ale pub where you get the traditional pub atmospere.
- forget it unless you like morgues.
- six pubs in total .some quiet ,some busy
- Plenty of pretty basic pubs - mega food portions in the Angel.
- the George Hotel is the hangout for the youths
- The Angel aint too bad
