The entirely missable and worth mentioning because of it

The Worst Things
  • nothing.
  • nothing.
  • nothing.
  • nothing.

  • one way system - for god's sake who invented the one we have now? The traffic lights and crossings - its a bottle neck even on a Sunday! Not having a cinema - or a swimming pool - who pays the man to put a stop in this
  • parks. disgustin
  • not many places to go and no individual once off shops e.g flea market shops/record shops
  • the chav's they are everywhere and they rewin everything lol
  • parking is utter crap 2 many traffic wardens
  • parking is utter crap 2 many traffic wardens
  • the local Rude Boys, twats! and even worse, the local Rude Girls
  • tha car parks may be free after 1pm Saturday but you can never get in them. Visitors would just get peed off and leave without ever seeing the place
  • The Gypo's that come to town every year with the Fair
  • People don't say hello if they pass you on the street..in fact they probably won't even look you in the eye!
  • loads of skateboarders!!!
  • rudeboys, grungers, old bill, the weirdos that love to roam late at night, but are still quite amuzing
  • Quite a few rough kids (12yrs-24yrs) looking for fights... if u know what i mean! loads of cars cruising about with loud music etc... u know the scene!
  • Mini roundabouts in town. It takes at least 30 minutes to travel from the station to the Chase when arrive off the train at night, this was quicker with the old one-way system.
  • to many old people homes, second hand shops, hairdressers, the one way system in genreal.
  • Rayleigh Weir! Floods everytime it rains! SORT IT OUT!
  • the sheer boringness and predictableness of the town..its the average town.
  • There is absulutely NOTHING to do here
  • I'd just like to say that the council have recently installed a mini-clock tower in the high street which chimes "Strangers In The Night". Seemingly a version which lasts one minute, and the chimes sound electronic (sounding more like steel drums than clock chimes). Only a council in Essex could install a cheesy Del Boy-like contraption and think it wasn't a waste of public money. When I first heard it I visibly cringed and shook my head. A passing woman commented to me: "Yes, I know, it's disgusting, isn't it?" and laughed.
  • There are probably worse places to be, but there's not much really going on here. The Pink Toothbrush is Rayleigh's only concession to anything remotely alternative. The on-going violence at kicking-out time on the High Street. The people can be a bit unnecessarily snobbish. There's hardly any young people around at all! Seems to be a bit of a retirement area at times.
