Pubs in Redditch, Worcestershire*

The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call

You can tell us more about Redditch.

Pubs
  • The Queens Head and the Black Horse could use a few more people
  • Chicargo Rock cafe on unicorn hill in town and the Duck pond pub in Oakenshaw opersite Tesco's
  • The Seven Stars!!!
  • recommend the golden cross, 1st pub you see when you get off the train and nice welcome sign from the platform too. food excellent- cask beer too! good atmosphere, friendly landlord, most impressed!
  • if its cheap food your after tardebigges your best bet! and usually have either karaoke or bands playing so you also get some entertainment
  • The Littentree.. fuckin hell, fight club?
  • fox lydiate pub. rose and crown pub. and on the bromsgrove rd INTO town bout half way down on the right theres a nice one 4 a drink there. family wise either of the other two.
  • The 'Crown' pub in Redditch is no more, but it is a very very very good Chinese Restaurant called Red Chamber. Although expect to pay £30 ahead. You still can't beat the Wetherspoons (The Rising Sun)for a mix of age ranges and prices to suit all budgets (that being cheap & cheerful)
  • I disagree with the comment of Redditch being a violent town it is far from it, the town centre has an excellent Licencees who are all members of the pub watch scheme and is supported by the local Police and town centre CCTV. Any one causing trouble in any venue in Redditch face the possibility of being barred from all pub watch members pubs and the membership is growing! 99% of locals and visiors in Redditch are well behaved and fun loving people as in most places in the Uk there is a minority who try and spoil it for the rest of us, these minorities will not be tolerated in our pubs. There is a nationwide problem with the 'binge drinking culture' in which licensees including myself, the home office, Licensing Authorities, alcohol concern and the Government are activeley researching to resolve. We, in Redditch promote sensible drinking and welcome all those who think likewise. The town centre of Redditch is a safe place to visit for all occasions.
  • The Golden Cross
  • The Coach house
  • The Coach House
  • The Golden Cross, has some really good music and some brilliant beer
  • Always look over your shoulder, you don't know who's gonna kick off or for what reason. Typica on is ''did you stare at my pint'' or ''didn't you beat my mate up?''
  • Yates is my local in there fri and sat nite music is beta on a friday, again used to b a lot ov young kids in there but now its much more strict with tha older crowd in there. good to go there to meet ppl b4 time and not expensive either. Litten Tree is very good for r'n'b but take ur i.d cuz they strict!
  • Da pubz are virtually void of asianz cus they don't drink. They are meeting groundz for all other comunities of town, and breeding ground for hundreds of teenage tarts. However, u do get the occasional asian massive appearance when fights break out between drunkards and asainz passing by. Usually the drunkardz get the slapping of a lifetime.
  • I had a pint in The rising sun once (the wetherspoons) and would only go if i enjoying picking my way through yellowing drunks and lacoste trainers. Oh and I went to Brodie's once as well. When it was Pink.
  • the jolly farmer is where most go but its kinda crap there, the one lodge is the best
  • the golden cross..don't go there
  • Loads of the above.....loads
  • WELL,I DON'T KNOW ANY GOOD ONES BUT THE LITTEN TREE HAS CERTAINLY PICKED UP LATELY!
  • A walk down the slough to studley is in order, they have 2nd highest pub to person ration in britain, so arent that fussy about who goes in.
  • lots of pubs unfortuately you have to drive unless you want to go to the ones in the centre
  • about 1 pub to every 10 people in redditch or so it seems
  • Apart from Birmingham, Redditch is the best local area to come for a decent night out(this is highlighted by the 3 coaches from Worcester, Solihull and Kidderminster that arrive outside Chicago Rock at 9 on a Saturday). For example, Brodies at 7, The Gate at 7.30, Wetherspoons at 8.30, Yate's at 9.30, The Litten Tree at 10, Chicago Rock at 11 and Time at 11.30. For all you sad bastards who have nothing positive to say about the town, fuck off away from the area and leave the rest of us to enjoy it
  • All Tarmacers must head for 'The Mayfly' Studley Road, Greenlands, it seems to be the starting place for their Fridays. Football fans can do no worse than pop into 'The Park' Southcrest / Headless Cross for the largest proper tele in Redditch and a stunning collection of scarves from all Clubs.
  • This is where Redditch is a national winner - in quantity not quality though. There are 3 kinds; 1. Village type locals where evryone knows who's shacked up with who and have great lock ins. (e.g. The Oddies, Ast Bank) 2. Scary estate pubs where vodka is a posh bird's drink and your feet stick to the floor. (e.g. The Woodrow, brrrr) 3. Puberty driven pulling joints where the average age is significantly less than your average Scout Group. (e.g.Wetherspoons, which wasn't there when I was 12 or maybe I'd have liked it more)
  • Most of the towns 50-odd pubs are pretty rough, but there are some gems. The Works can be a laugh, but can attract a nasty crowd. The Golden Cross is an old favorite, but again, the crown can be young and aggressive. The Foxlidiate hotel is very relaxed and has good bar food, but a bit family orientated, not good if you hate kids, like me. Weatherspoons is alright, but is massive, has no music, and actualy has a no-smoking section, arse! brodies on Evesham Road is cool but very small. I'm going to keep all the brilliant country pubs a secret, so there. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!: The Dog & Pheasant, Hot Shots, The White Hart, Hewell Road Social Club, and ANY pub in Winyates, Woodrow and Matchborough, like the people who live there, they're anti-social, shitty and violent.
  • i recommend yates, although very expensive, u have a laugh (if its not too busy) have a boogie, and chat to the lovely bouncers that stand at the door and drink tea. me and my mate have started goin back up to hotshots 4 a quiet yet enjoyable drink.
  • my faves are the dog ang pheasant tell john dorris says hi! and hotshots but you younger gals will fit in at the crown if you like cheep drinks and slappers where ever you turn oh and you get all the kevs in there too
  • take it from me, unless you are a prize winning barefisted boxer it is probabily best to steer clear of all Redditch pubs. However, if you have to venture into Redditch for a drink may i sugest witherspoons before leaving the town to find a decent pub.
  • Crown is great on a thursday, the place is jammin! for a £ a drink you cant go wrong, shame about the lads!
  • Crown- it's okay but i got to say that because my man worked their once, kind of fresh faced last time i was there though Cross- fun but not for the faint hearted. Wetherspoons- cheap, very cheap and i like that Yates's- over priced and overly trendy, good if you like to think you're upper classed. works- trying desperately to clean up it's act- we salute you Carl keep at it Bromsgrove also has some bosting pubs
  • The two in places at the time of writing are Whetherspoons (Town Center) and the Oast House (Church Hill).
  • probably best just going to Victoria Wines, getting eight cans for a fiver and then fucking off home. No chance of a knifing then.
  • Yates' is pretty lively for a pub in Redditch. So is Brody's but that seems to attract a 'fresh faced' crowd.
  • Of particular interest, the golden mile: wicked pub crawl route with about about fourteen pubs. Goes along Evesham Rd towards town starting at the Star and Garter in Crabbs Cross.
  • Best pub known for quality is the Brook Inn just outside of town - past Walkwood, and long a country lane.
