Pubs in Redhill, Surrey*

The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call

You can tell us more about Redhill.

Pubs
  • most of the pubds in redhill are pants. the sun however is good for a cheap knees up!
  • The Sun is cheap and seldom cheerful. O'neills no comment blah blah blah
  • avoid all, unless you like fighting - get you arse over to reigate and grab a rich bitch
  • The Sun, for no life. The Abbott for music you can't shout over, and for all the sluts you wouldn't pay to shag.
  • elm shades
  • ONEILS - one of the few pubs left in Deadhill that has not been overrun my the townie hordes. good food, happy bouncy staff and giant jenga! what more do you need in a pub? (just ignore the occasional irish song)
  • The Office was a great bar which played great music (rock and alternative) on a friday had a great vibe and actually brought in people from outside of redhill. Then it became the dog and duck and filled up with boring people again.
  • the abbott,redhill...been in there quite a few times and never seen a fight. if you ask me its one of the most friendly, lively pubs ive bin into. the garage music gets a bit borin sometimes, but the bar staff are nice and so are the door men.i dnt worry when i go in there cos my mates and i always feel safe.karaoke is hilarious on a wednesday and massive screen for footy watchers.
  • The Sun to its credit is cheap. On the other has its share of alcoholics, doll moll & the occasional pikie. This is nothing compared to the Abbot - it resonates evil (has anyone else noticed how red it is inside), this is the places to come to find young men with attitude problems & hackett shirted tossers who somehow think they look cool dancing to garage. But to cap it off this place is pretentious enough to charge £2 to get in on a saturday night. avoid. The Garland is a traditional "old man pub", good for a quiet pint, as is the White Lion at the end of Grovehill road. Home cottage is a good pub too.
  • You better add The Joshua Tree (formerly "The Albatross" since Kev and Trish took it over, it has reformed to a top class restaurant and local pub ! Kev was head chef at House of Commons and also Channel 4..he prides himself on top food..no average pub grub here ! good wines..convivial atmosphere..the only place to eat in Redhill area if you dont want oriental food..(although he will even cook that to order for you !) you name it..he'll cook it for you to order..and all fresh..no frozen pub grub here ! ! This place must be visited..what was once a dive is now THE place to eat and drink !
  • The sun is cheap, theres usualy a queue of doll-molls before opening time who dont roll out till well after closing time, but its big enough not to be too disturbed by them. O'Neills is expensive, the Abbott's lively but plays GARAGE. Best pub in the area is the White Lion, hard to find if your not a local, ancient interior and genuinely friendly Irish landlord running it.
  • I was a duty manager in the Sun for 9 months coming from Australia. I must say it was the best pub in town. The Abbott wasn't that bad either.
  • The Home Cottage is THE place to go for a quiet undisturbed drink where you can actually hold a conversation. The Aussie/Kiwi/South African/whatever at the time but not normally English staff are really cool. The Billage people hung out there all the time.
  • None of the pubs in the centre are that great. The Sun is large & cheap, the Dog & Duck (formerly the Office) is ok but lacks real atmosphere, and O'Neills is expensive. A few pubs tucked away in the back streets though, the White Lion is hard to find if your not a local, but its an atmospheric old building and the Irish couple who run it are very friendly.
  • Sun, is very cheap and not so cheerful full of women with mulletts and men with breasts. Dog and Duck pretty good pub, good food, atmosphere so so. Firlot and Firkin (closed to be O'neils soon) used to be good before they went against the firkin ethic and started playing garage. Abbott - Dont even go there girlfriend (unless u like fisticuffs) Home cottage - great quiet old mans joint Red Lion, good all round pub shame its not in the town centre
  • I would not recommend visiting anywhere in central Redhill (unless you have a certain affinity with people who eat road-kill). However, the White Lion and the Red Lion, both on the outskirts of Redhill are slightly friendlier and you are less likely to have your car stolen from outside.
  • Only four in the immediate town centre vicinity. The Abbot which has a terrible DJ on a Friday /saturday night. Touters also sell tickets to a night club in Purley or Croydon on some battle bus. The Sun (Wetherspoons - so no music),Dog & Duck and The Firkin which is currently having a makeover. Theres one more which is tagged on to the 'Beruit' of Redhill called the Dragon.
  • The sun: lots of people no life or music, dog and duck: very bad, the abbot: are you looking at my bird/pint/shoes/pub?, the firkin: was the best pub but is now being turned into a o'neils
  • Please can the Prince Albert be turned into a pub again someone. It had its stint as a Mongolian Barbecue and now Jim and I want it to be a proper watering hole so we don't have to go to the Causeway and drink with the Chelsea and Arsenal morons. Jim's alright though (even though he's a Seagull), and if you're stuck for a date he can help you out with something big.....
  • Don't bother - go to Reigate instead!
  • Home Cottage, sun, moon, Duck & Orange, the Garland, The Lakers, The George, Frog & Firkin are all I can think of within a 600 yard radius of the town.
  • The Sun. It's a Weatherspoons pub, but they don't blast your ears with jungle, and the beer is cheap. Actually an ok atmosphere for a chain pub. Otherwise, The White Lion, on Grovehill road. Good service, and a smile.
  • Plenty, but there is no life for any one under 50.Buy a pipe and a dog or stay at home and take drugs (check press for availability)
