- The best thing about Redruth is that it is the centre of the true cornish way of life. I travel a lot and I have met many a cornishman but only when I meet people from 'druth do you really get a sense of true cornish loyalty. 'Druth people are big people with big hearts....I love 'em all.
- Easy to get served for booze underage, easy to get into over 18s underage.

- The rugby club. Still the best in Cornwall despite the pretensions of all those foreigners playing for and running Penzance

- Redruth is a pretty quiet town not a good place to go for a wild night out, excepting the Penventon. It is in an employment blackspot although it was once a booming mining town. If you are interested in the local history it is full of fascinating places like the ubiquitous engine houses and red subsoil staining old mine workings.
