- The finely desirable Kristin Scott Thomas (of 4 Weddings, Mission Impossible and so on).
- Richard Trevethick who invented the steam locomotive, way before Stephenson. Camborne may claim him as theirs but he was actually born in Pool which, as any fule kno, has a Redruth postcode
- Redruth's most famous ex-resident (and born in Redruth) is....Mick Fleetwood, of Fleetwood Mac. His father was a Sqn Ldr at nearby RAF Portreath when Mick was born.
- Hereīs one for you!....Sarah James is the sister to The Aphex Twin,who attended Redruth comp in the late 70īs early 80īs,the same time as myself( the sister that is)Also Gus Honeybun (remember him?) appeared at the regal cinema in 1976,but mind you the mushrooms were of a fine potency that year!!!
- Did you know that Seb Co isn't even Cornish yet he was Falmouth's MP? What is the world coming to when a Englander can come and get one of only three jobs in cornwall. The others being 'chief drug dealer' and the train conductor on the Great Western from Padington.
