  • I'm not absolutely sure but I heard that 80's gay icon Alan Walters is now running the old Western public house. Known as Druid for many years in his home town which I believe is Welsh for sausage jockey, he has been a local character in many drinking haunts in the town. Huge impact at Chess Valley Rugby Club as soap monitor in the changing rooms. I personally remember him for bringing my cycling career to an abrubt end
  • Tim Lovejoy of Sky Sports Soccer AM fame, lived down Valley Road. He went to local schools Christchurch and St Clement Danes. Plays golf at Moor Park. Matthew Thompson, male model, starred in "Mile High" and "Nescafe" ad, lived on Chorleywood Road. Went to same schools as Tim.
  • JG - Thats the rugby match accomplished, bring on the Marathon! 25/9/04
  • Jerry Green is famous! Chairman of the most successful amateur rugby club in Britain, Chess Valley RFC, (based at Ricky Sports Club on Park Road) he is a survivor of bowel and lung cancer. Reckons he is going to play one more game and run the London Marathon. Watch this space!

  • Miss Howell!!! ex maths teacher from Rickmansworth school. Known for being v scary but v excellent at her job. If it wasn't for her i wouldn't be earning 30 grand at the age of 22!!!
  • Being a Mill End resident i can tell you that Geri Halliwell didn't grow up in Mill End. Her half sister lived in Church Lane, where Geri stayed for a while. She was actually brought up in Watford.

  • After the break up of Wham, Andrew Ridgley opened up a bar called "92s". Unfortunately this was burnt down, and my personal opinion is that it was done by a Duran Duran fan. I am not 100% sure but I think George Michael and Andrew Ridgley came from Rickmansworth (or near about).
Andrew Ridgley did come from Rickmansworth. He actually grew up on a street called Mount View in Ricky. I actually saw him once when I was visiting friends who live across the street from his home.
Actually, George Michael came from Bushey. Him and other Wham! members used to work in the Ponda Rosa cafe in Watford until they became famous (and dumped the girls). I think Andrew R. lived close to Ricky though.
