- Good Intent in john street. very family friendly 2 bar local have real ale festivals, regular live music the regulars often play guitars and fiddles in the big garden.
- Man of Kent expensive clicky and crowded
- The Good Intent in John Street is pub for grown ups with regular live music, good keg and real beers, a nice garden and no fights.
- Queen Charlotte's AKA Charlottes Bar, many reasons why it is considered crap but its generally great
- Delay goes in the Spoons. Say no more!
- the spoons is shit, full of wankers, why bother???
- Sean Delay goes to the Spoons. What a tosser!
- so many good pubs its unreal.
- 2006 Update on the Man of Kent in John Street; Its still the best place to go for REAL beers, Ciders and Lager for conny-sewers! No 'kids' or tossers are allowed in, which makes it a pleasant place for grown ups to go for a beer. That said its not a pub for boring old tossers either. A regular hangout for musicians and morris dancers, especially during the Sweeps Festival in May. Don't miss out!
- The Two Brewers is great, if tiny. Good for a quiet drink with a couple of mates on weekdays, and great for the whole crowd at weekends, if you can get there early enough to comandeer all the tables. Love it!
- The Coopers pub near Kings school x pub food Anette and Mike make you very welcome and brill prices good pint of 1664 and local beer
- again pubs in rochester aint great but queen charlottes is ok and city wall is lively and not bad place to go
- The pub with outside area overlooking Castle/Cathedral is The Jolly Knight/Ye Arrow. On a sunny summer's afternoon it's the best place in the world to be. Great view. Honest. And Casa Lina, that institution on the High Street, is now in new hands - it's a bistro/cafe place called "Cosgroves" Very good it is too. (Lina, who owned and ran Casa Lina, has retired).
- wetherspoons is always good. cheap drink and good food. city walls steak and sunday roast are good enough to rite home about!!
- The best pubs in rochester would be the eagel and city wall always blazin in them. weatherspoons is alwayz packed but they dont play music so its alrite for a quite drink lol
- The Riverside Tavern Strood - wonderful gay, lesbian, bi, etc venue with exceptional food, lovely staff & entertainment. Also pretty good fun on Sat nites as they have djs and late licence. It's fab.
- it has to be "the bull"! you are guaranteed a laugh at the queen chrlotte!

- Your info about the Man of Kent in Rochester is illinformed or
deliberately misleading by some one.
Jay is still the landlord.
Real ale was never 'off'
Nick
- Man of Kent, John Street: Jay, the landlord now in his tenth year there, will be surprised to hear that he's gone... Excellent beers and ciders from Kent (Goachers Gold Star a speciality), and a good selection of German beers. Occasional music (three-quarters of the clientele seem to play guitar); usually good craic; and great free food on Sundays.
- Man of Kent, get it right. It is NOT under new management the real Ale never went away and Jay is here to stay. Good Pub good beer and no Foster's served.
- Nags Head. Angie does the best roast in town. Her Peggy Mitchell like authority deserves much respect.
Crown
City Wall is dangerously hovering close to being the shitty wall again
- Tap n Tin, the only place!
- More pubs than anything else, Mostly referbished and approachible.
- The Rochester Bar(Victoria & Bull Hotel) is without a doubt the best pub in Rochester. It always seems to attract the finest girls and with £1.50 a pint mon-fri it won't leave you out of pocket.
- rochester bars seem very popular with the VERY youthfull OVER 18s. no that isnt a 14yr old u see walkin past honest!
- The Man of Kent, John Street featuring landlord; Jay(sus christ) Superstar!
- Jay is still going strong in the Man of Kent, John Street(HUZZAH!!)and
still letting members of Wolf's Head Morris set fire to themselves
and smash his fire irons to bits with impunity. Definitely the best beer drinkers
pub in Medway, ever.
- The King's Head Hotel/Hogshead, facing on to the High Street and backing on to Ye Arrow (the one which faces the castle), is a marvellous pub, where the youthful and energetic staff will engage you with their witty repartee and dashing good looks. There is normally a fine selection of retro/alternative CDs in the player, although sadly there's no jukebox. Beer (and house spirit doubles at £1.95... not bad...) is reasonably priced and the Wednesday night quiz is the highlight of some peoples' social calendar. Well... some quite sad people, but it's still pretty good. Oh, and in there, Brian Blessed is God.
- Golen Lion - Jd wetherspoon, shit atmospher, no music
The crown - just been revamped
Expectations - nice
Rochester bar - fishbowl
The Hog's head - good atmosphere, cheap but the beers always off
two brewers - smallest pub
The eagle - chav heaven
City wall - full of yaya middle class wannabe's

The Coopers, St Margaret's Street, just up from the Castle - good beer and a nice garden to boot! (Courage)
- THE RISING SUN!!!!!!!!!!!
- The Man of Kent, John Street, Rochester. It's just been taken over by new management... Wahay! - Looks like the real ale is back on tap.... Bye to Jay!
- any that gives free beer to morris dancers...
- Tap N Tin - they give you free food!
- The Nags Head on the lower road is an excellent boozer with cheap gut luggage food, a half decent jukebox and student/grungy type punters.
- Tap n tin
- Cannot remember the name of the pub, but walk out to the castle and there is a beer gardent looking towards the castle itself. Very good grub and reasonably priced too!
- Yes, many, many pubs
