Tale of the tape..Porter 10,000 album copies sold including USA,Europe (most of)and the UK Largest audience 25,000 strong crowd Worked with ...(The best!) Victor Bloke...Not much known other than some might say he is the "Stig" of vocal performance and can usually be found in the White Horse on friday night's. The 5 piece Porter band will be playing a christmas gig at The Kings Head on 20th of December 2008 so come on Victor get in the christmas spirit!!! from the Pretentious Twaddler (wink!)

• The open mic night at the kings head is awful unfortunately - its usually just teens who think they can sing and dreadful karaoke. Its always full of underage kids too. Not too sure whats going on with that pub but it needs sorting out. The scene in rochford is pretty bad at the moment. People seem to think that a bloke called 'porter' is good and they keep getting him to sing in the pubs even though his music is pretentious twaddle and i have yet to see the man sing a decent song. in summary - best bet for music id the white horse on a friday, good singers and no pretentious rubbish!
• There is an open-mic night at the Kings head on a wednesday. An evening with dave west once a month at the ship. Quite why you would want to spend more than ten minutes with him is beyond me but the oldies love him! White horse has good singers on a friday.
• "The Freight House" is where the bands play, right next to Rochford Railway Station.
• I hear that you can often get to boogie on down in the rather up market area just off Millview Meadows!
