I am the Michael Sparrow you refer to. I was at the school from 1950-55/56. I have no recollection of this photo and I could certainly not supply 42 names from memory, but here are a few that spring to mind ( the spelling might not be correct): Dennis Tracey, Kenneth Bartlett, Sandra Billings, Gillian Shears, Linda Powling, Raymond Horner, Brian Nash, Philip(?) Green, Richard Ti tshall, Roger Gashnitz(?). All now knocking on 60, I suppose! I seem to recall that the headmaster's name was spelt Barltrop. Some other staff names I remember are: Mr Daley, Mr Dockerell, Mr Sillery, Miss Sharpen, Miss Adams, Miss May. Does anyone know Gwynetth or Doreen Sparrow, they must be in their 80s and according to a nephew where still living in Rochford last year. They were the daughters of the Vet Harry Sparrow. If anyone can let me know anything about them I would be thrilled, I am a niece of Harry Sparrow, living near Colchester. Since the death of my father in 1971 we have lost touch with the family. Birth mother later remarried, surname 'Yost'. Michael may be using surname Spencer, Fowler or Yost. When Michael was born, the family lived at 199 Lonsdale Road, Southend-On-Sea. Believe family may have moved shortly a fter Michael was born to Bexleyheath/Dartford. At time of Michael's birth, Bertram was employed as a bus driver in Southend-On-Sea. My grandfather Henry Frost Sparrow was a vet living in Rochford at Firtree House in I believe East Street, (I was born there) my Uncle Harry was also a vet and lived across the road, and his son Lionel followed them into the practice this was at the beginning of the last century, doesn't that sound strange now> I last heard of them in about 1960 and I know Lionel had a son Michael but that is as f ar as I know. Michael would be a bit younger than me late fifty /early sixty? I am trying to trace our family tree further back than Henry Frost Sparrow and I believe his father was Charles Sparrow and came from Nevendon. Grandfather had 100 first cousins so there must be a lot of Sparrows around who are related. My father was Patrick Henry Sparrow and he was a farmer first at Flemings Farm in Eastwood and then at Stansgate Abbey.
