My family came to the USA in the 1830's. My gg grandfather was Francis Loftus born around 1800 and his wife was Mary Murray also born around 1800. I know they had at lest one child born in Roscommon, Margaret Loftus born around Dec. 1832.
Mary Murray's parents names were John and Margaret Murray. I don't know if they also came to the US. Francis and Mary Loftus were in New York City from the 1850... more >>

My Grandmother was Jane Deehan from Roscommon and married Michael Fallon also from Roscommon. Both had close family who went left Ireland for the USA in the 1900's. Any Roscommon Deehan or Fallon decendents out there?

    Just came across this site...my father, Jeremiah Fallon was born in Roscommon...his mother was Bridget Mulloley,his father was Patrick Fallon. He had 2 sisters, Anne & Bridget, one of which went to england to live. I seem to remember some info regarding why he left Ireland and went to live and work in UK. May have been some "trouble".     My family came from Roscommon in the 1800's to Boston, MA. I have seen the name Michael somewhere as well. I am working on my family tree and have only gotten to the arrival here in the states...have not found much on the Roscommon end yet.

Is there anyone called NILAN in Frenchpark Roscommon by nightrider (Member 10093836) on 19-Apr-2003
My grandfather Patrick Nilan married Mary Murray 24th February 1905 In Salford England. I think he was born In Frenchpark Roscommon In 1875 because on his marriage certificate he was 30 and Mary was 25. This Is the only bit of Information I have.

i am doing some research into family names the name proving difficult to trace is Byron i believe the name is associated with the castlerea area of rosscommon trying to locate a mary ellen byron who may have lived there in the 1940s 50sor any duffy's thatlived there and moved to manchester in england.Any help would be appreciated.
