  • civic in mexborough used t be the local hole in the wall for underagers tryin t scam drinks an watch bands but these days everybodies always calin on about the blue bamboo in roth, i went myself, an it were sorta ok, but not the best place in the world, try Gillys rock world or Satans hollow in leeds

  • No decent music venue in Rotherham, they could have used the Travellers but turned it into a seedy dirty old mans club
  • The High House has live bands playing every thursday night from 8pm
  • the storm nightclub on ship hill rotherham also has live bands every month starting with alexanders palace on wednesday 16 feb and the bigger the crowd the bigger the band so if you want to see all the big bands live give them your support doors open 9 pm till 2 am all drinks £2.50
  • Disraelis, the Charters, The Old Monk (snafu), i dont know whether these are really as good as i think they are, when i'm in i'm always pissed.
  • The Charters Arms, Eastwood Lane. Live bands every Friday night from 10pm-ish to 1am-ish. Usually about £2 admission.
  • go to charters every thurs its cool. guys there are friendly and u dont get killed in the mosh like u used to at the wellieboot.
  • hallam fm arena even tho its in sheff is still the hottest place to catch international , local and national bands
  • The Effingham Arms, Bradgate in Rotherham has had regular live bands for the last ten years. Every Friday night there is a JAM night - The Effing JAM. There is no charge and the musicians are not paid, they play to KEEP MUSIC LIVE. aLL ARE WELCOME.
  • The Squirrel in Dinngton was fantastic until they built a Charlie Chalk play area over the stage. Kivo Club. The Strolling Clones play there all the time and they're fantastic. Singer looks a bit poorly though.
  • Charters or (after refurb.) the wellie. My bands first gigs played at one or the other.

  • Charters and No.10 have bands, guitars and occasionally the genius that is Miyamoto. And look out for Salter's latest "Thinking of Wordsworth."

  • The Chequers Inn in Whiston is good for karaoke style club turns; keep a look out for our Sandra, who's come all the way from Barnsley - aaagh!

  • It's got to be the Leadmill or the Corporation for 'decent' 'cheap' acts. One place to check out in Rotherham is the 'Get Sorted Crew' [in the building next to the Welly Boot (the steep road is in between!!!) they have some great young bands!!! J.E
  • Wellington Boot and The Charters. Watch out for the new band 'Dementia' coming up at the Charters on 19th December and they sometimes play at the Wellington aswell, they're great!
  • The Tut n Shive has some good bands on,usually on a thursday.Also the Wellington Boot (same road as the Millenium) can be anyday of the week!
