  • Some are going non smoking but most haven't yet. Guess the empty ones? At least you can get served and you dont smell like an ashtray! Wonder what they would do if I made them smell like a urinal?... inconsiderates I can't wait for everywhere to be non smoking. Most of the other places are just full of people who cant handle their drink.
  • The Duke of York is a gay pub that is a great laugh and not at all in your face. Otherwise Salisbury pubs are constantly changing...one weekend they will be packed and the next they could be dead. That's what you get when there are over 300 pubs in such a small town.
  • Deacon's, Fisherton street......for the cheeriest smiles and friendliest pint in town....... Go there! Black rat cider.....
  • *****The Queens Head Inn***** BroadChalke Salisbury... 01722 780344....STEAK NIGHT EVERY WEDNESDAY AMD SATURDAY..... Ths has to be the best place for a country style pub....'fantastic' prices and the food and service is great!!!!!!!!
  • Lloyds number one bar!!! On Fisherton Street!! Bouncers checking ID on the door though...
  • Mojitos
  • tha village wilton road - rock bands sometimes play there (Crippled rook)!!! xx
  • Anchor & Hope winchester st. Bill & les have changed the pub & atract customers of all ages. A very friendly and jovial atmosphere. Highly recomended for visitors to the town.
  • Greyfisher is nice, bit like home. All ways nice and warm The Cornmarket's a bit dark
  • how somewhere can have so many pubs but no good ones amazes me. avoid the pheasant, full of skanks.
  • Huntsman Tavern, recently a favourite for college students for its excellent quality and its close distance to the college. You can find it near brown street car park.
  • The Queen's Arms is the oldest pub and the landlord knows his football. If you want to watch any match on Sky, he will find it for you.
  • C&B Scene is definatley for the YOUNG at heart if you know what I mean. Just so eveyone knows Cafe Prague is now Cafe Pride and yes the name does really mean what you think it does..Salisburys offical gay bar, havent been in there since its changed so I dunno if its any good. The Cathedral Hotel, Bishops Mill, basically all the way along Fisherton theres a pub for everyones tastes. Oh and also Churchills closed about five years ago it was Gosh which was good but it just changed again about a month ago and is now Ice Bar, which I havent tried yet.
  • The Wyndham Arms - great pub for ale lovers and good conversation/banter. The pub was the original Hopback Brewery pub. Brewing was originally all done in the cellar. Hopback now own 6 pubs - the Wyndham is still the best. Members of Channel 4's Time Team have allegedly been spotted here. The Village, Wilton Road, a true free house, probably not one for the posers or talent hunters but again great for proper ale and banter.
  • British legion good place to have your lunch on market days. The ale house is cheep and good music.
  • The Cathedral is THE place to be - very popular and crowded though. Salisbury has the greatest concentration of pubs anywhere in the UK - nowhere quite like it, over 100 within a square mile! Try crawling round that lot..
  • many a fresh faced person in every place in salisbury. best is the vestry, c+bscene, moloko, cathedral hotel.
  • The barley Mow at The Greencroft is nice, wish they would get some up to date music through.
  • The Old Ale House near the Cathedral Close is pretty groovy! Prop up the bar and look for the crazy man who lights and drinks far too much Sambuca!
  • Cafe Prague The wilton (nice quite one) Cathedral Hotel Bishop's Mill Moloko bar ( v trendy) Sin-a-Bar (weird) The Townhouse The Vestry (the chapel's side pub)
  • Deacons in Fisherton St
  • The Old Manor SociaL Club should be your first port of call on visiting Salisbury, IN Wilton Road. This illustrious place is run happy Gordon who will be delighted to welcome you with a beaming smile and generous hug, such is his gregarious nature. Also Carol completes the cheerful carefree young atmosphere wiht her youthful looks and jocular personality. Call in anytime and experience the carnival fun of Salisbury's premier night spot..
  • The Bird in hand which is in East Street used to be an Edwardian pub The Rilway Taven up by the staion has two surving stables at the back, and is where Danny and Illon (our two horses) stayed after delivering beer to you thirsty lot. Worn out after pulling the drey, they were entitled to a beer or two. The Swinging Cat tavern is where they play jazz, probably dates from 1800
  • There are many with a history eg: the Haunch of Venison was a brothel in 1700 and is one of Salisbury's oldest pubs with oak beams, and spooks.
  • Anchor & Hope - Winchester Street. Great atmos.
  • The haunch with it's mummified hand, not very handy that one.
  • The Haunch of Venison with the mummified hand in a glass case.
  • 365 one for every day of the year
  • The Old Mill in Harnham is good for Summer. Lovley river setting.
  • Quite a few on the outskirts
  • The Chaugh, \Blue Boar Row Cloisters, Salt Lane car park Haunch of Venison
  • Best Pub for real ale is Deacons in Fisherton Street. The Vodka bar in the same street is also worth a visit.
  • Lots of new pubs opening up. A bit pricey. Hop Back brewery still the best for good cheapish beer.
  • Cafe Prague is really excellent. Moloko bar is not so good.
  • There are loads of pubs and a high proportion of these are good or excellent: try the Wyndham Arms on Estcourt Road (home of the Hopback brewery), the Wilton near the railway station, the Oddfellows Arms on Milford Street, the Deacons Alms on Fisherton Street (is there still a blues jam session on Thursdays?). The Haunch of Vennison is worth a look just for the incredible interior.
  • The Village (Wilton Road near the roundabout). Excellent for real ale. Also known as Sausage Station.
  • Salisbury has more pubs than anything else. The under age drinking is a problem in the town centre.
  • Crown & Anchor - Exeter Street : GREAT PLACE. small, cramped, excellent atmosphere Will list loads more when I get away from work....
  • The Bull, Fisherton Street - Friendly pub, good beer & good food
