• I live opposite Blaster Bates - a few weeks ago I was panic-struck when I turned into the road to see the Bomb Disposal Unit outside his house, and several large constables looking very menacing. Never found out what it was all about. George Roper (The Comedians) lived in Sandbach for many years up to his death last year. It is rumoured that Shaun Goater lives in Sandbach.
• Though not actually from Sandbach but now a well nown resident, Colin Cranson's celebrity throughout the world cannot be in question man! Who can ever forget him gozzin' on Arthur Jackson when rushing to bollock the mild mannered, but oh-so-talented Rochey all those years ago? And then there was the incident at the areas when the ajudicator wrote in the remarks - great performance save for the singing...please cut ut out Colin!!....from the great Jimmy Scott, of whom CC once said - there's more music in that lamp post than there is in JS!
