• The people are mostly nice, and unpretentious. I was daydreaming once and nearly walked into someone, and she said sorry! It is also a good place to grow up, since almost wherever you move will be a much better place. The bus service to Hull isnt bad. There are some great cheap stores like B&M and T J Hughes.

• The best thing about coming from Scunthorpe is that every single place you go for the rest of life seems absolutely breathtakingly brilliant compared to where you came from. Imagine actually being from somehere nice- you would always think other places were shit! Being from Scunthorpe is a blessing in disguise!

• The road out of it, 3 days there is like torture. If i ever had to go back to live i think i would go insane.

• scunthorpe isn't as bad as people make out. i live in rotherham which i think is probably much larger than scunthorpe but being so close to sheffield, meadowhall and other towns we get dominated by these other areas and have no decent shops. at least being a little more remote means scunthorpe has more decent shops of its own.
• If you don't pull at blarney 20 sheets will get you a shag in a dodgy frod road flat. Mind you don't step on the junkies on your way in.

• the high street is pretty quiet on a weekday afternoon. that's because we all have jobs to go to unlike a coastal town not far away from us. stick around and you'll have some good times - we don't shun you because you're from a particular place.
• When I moved to Oxford! Scunthorpe is a SHITHOLE. NO JOBS, NO NIGHTLIFE, NO IDEA and NO POINT! BLOW IT UP!
